Leg 1 Selections: Aljezur, Kodiac Thriller, Indian Run, Kingdom Of Riches

This race should prove informative with a host of potential smart two-year-old’s. ALJEZUR made a promising start to his career when second on debut at Newbury, splitting two nice horses after a poor getaway from the gates, and should improve with Jim Crowley booked to ride. KODIAC THRILLER finished his race strongly when second at Windsor on debut and is another who should do better with William Buick in the saddle. INDIAN RUN, who was third on debut at Newbury and Ralph Beckett’s well-bred debutant KINGDOM OF RICHES are also noted and included.

Leg 2 Selections: Komat, Pretty Crystal

KOMAT returned a good winner on debut at Redcar on soft ground and went close in a Listed event in France next time over a trip too short. I was really impressed with the way she hit the line strongly from an unfavourable position when sixth in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot over course-and-distance and this is much easier. With more to come, and being reunited with Kevin Stott, she is a major player. PRETTY CRYSTAL was a place in front of the former here last time on just her second career start and should also go well, though I expect the former to reverse the form.

Leg 3 Selections: Ameynah, Random Harvest

AMEYNAH has a large absence to overcome but she could just be better than these. She was thrown into the deep end on just her third career start in the 1000 Guineas and ran a hell of a race to finish sixth. She shaped as if she has much more to come, so while she has to concede fitness to these, her yard's runners rarely lack for fitness and her Group 1 entries suggest she must go close in this. RANDOM HARVEST was below form in the Falmouth but her neck second in Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot would give her a solid place chance at least.

Leg 4 Selections: Tacarib Bay, Fools Rush In, Spangled Mac

TACARIB BAY was down the field at Newmarket when last seen but is better than that and has filled the frame twice at this course now off higher marks in quality handicaps. A break since last time will have helped and he has the class to beat these. FOOLS RUSH IN was marginally denied by the former when they were first and second at Haydock last year and caught the eye at Hamilton last time. He has no weight on his back and could go well for Jim Goldie, while SPANGLED MAC could have a race like this in him after running well in two hot handicaps at Royal Ascot.

Leg 5 Selections: Hukum

The feature race can go to HUKUM who was so impressive in winning on his return when defeating Derby winner Desert Crown at Sandown after claiming his Group 1 at Epsom last year. He has a good course record with two wins from three starts and will be suited to a strong gallop. I think his form has far more substance than what Auguste Rodin and King Of Steel have achieved, while a few others would prefer the going to be faster. The six-year-old can bag another Group 1 success for his connections under Crowley.

Leg 6 Selections: Alyanaabi, Sunway

It could be a quick-fire double for Burrows and Crowley with ALYANAABI who was impressive in winning a minor event on debut at Salisbury and this son of Too Darn Hot could turn out to be a pattern-class performer. He is fancied to run well with improvement to come. SUNWAY also made an impressive winning debut last month at Sandown and would have won even easier with a clear run as well. Oisin Murphy is retained to ride and he therefore has to enter calculations.

How does a Placepot work?

The more people who play the Placepot at a given meeting, the larger the pool will be. If less people find the winning combination across the six races, the bigger the winning dividend will be.

When placing your Tote Placepot bet, you can choose whether to make one or more selections in each race, which are referred to as lines.

Adding multiple lines in a race increases your chances of picking a horse that places. However, your total stake is determined ‘per line’, so the more lines you place the higher the stake will be.

To work out how much you have won, multiply your stake per line by the amount of winning lines you have. Your winnings will then be either that percentage of the published £1-stake winnings or a multiple of the published dividend.
