Leg 1 Selections: Papa Don’t Preach, Manila Scouse

PAPA DON’T PREACH cashed-in on a low mark when winning back in January and is now four pounds lower after going winless since. He ran well in his only previous start on heavy ground and when second and has place possibilities, while MANILA SCOUSE was marginally denied by yesterday’s Stewards’ Cup winner when last seen and has a great chance to go one better.

Leg 2 Selections: Rainwater, Super Schwartz

A tight-little contest but Richard Fahey does well with his two-year-old’s and RAINWATER, who has been well supported in the betting, could be up to making a winning debut. SUPER SCHWARTZ also appeals on paper and could have a say in the matter as well.

Leg 3 Selections: Illusionist, Be Proud

ILLUSIONIST scored at York last year from a two pound higher mark and is now dropped into a class four for the first time in over two years and the last time he ran in this grade he won. He goes well on soft ground and could make an impact with the blinkers applied. BE PROUD scored twice last month at Doncaster and could go very well in his hat-trick bid.

Leg 4 Selections: Bringbackmemories, Auld Toon Loon

BRINGBSCKMEMORIES gained a first win on the Flat when scoring over course-and-distance in June and has since backed that up with a couple of runner-up efforts. He should be thereabouts, while AULD TOON LOON has won two of his last three starts, including on the testing ground at Chester and has positive claims.

Leg 5 Selections: Nellie Leylax, Paladin

NELLIE LEYLAX won on debut on soft ground at Redcar and then made it two-from-four in his career when scoring under the same conditions at Doncaster last time. All four career starts have come in class two events, so this is a major ease in grade and he should be hard to beat with lots in his favour. PALADIN did win over track and trip a couple of weeks ago though and is the main danger on handicap debut.

Leg 6 Selections: No Nay Nicki, Golden Melody

NO NAY NICKI ran a good race when second off a pound higher mark at York two starts ago and wasn’t beaten far when fifth at the same course last-time-out. This is much easier and she handles cut in the ground as well, while GOLDEN MELODY has a good record on soft conditions and is a couple of pounds below his last winning mark, so he might be in the mix.

How does a Placepot work?

The more people who play the Placepot at a given meeting, the larger the pool will be. If less people find the winning combination across the six races, the bigger the winning dividend will be.

When placing your Tote Placepot bet, you can choose whether to make one or more selections in each race, which are referred to as lines.

Adding multiple lines in a race increases your chances of picking a horse that places. However, your total stake is determined ‘per line’, so the more lines you place the higher the stake will be.

To work out how much you have won, multiply your stake per line by the amount of winning lines you have. Your winnings will then be either that percentage of the published £1-stake winnings or a multiple of the published dividend.
