Leg 1 Selections: Temper Trap, How Bizarre, Extinction

TEMPER TRAP landed this contest twelve months ago by six lengths and has been in great form recently, winning back-to-back events on similar ground. Turned out relatively quickly under a penalty, he has a great chance to repeat the dose of his win last year and bring up the hat-trick of wins in recent weeks. HOW BIZARRE has won two of his last three starts and is also respected on ground that will suit, while EXTINCTION will benefit from the drop in grade and is likely to improve.

Leg 2 Selections: Seven Questions

It is hard to see past SEVEN QUESTIONS who is taken to defy a seven-pound penalty for his recent Yarmouth victory. George Scott’s charge has improved in each of his three starts and the form of his recent win has worked out well with the runner-up going one better since. This is his for the taking and it would be massively surprising if he couldn’t go close or at worse, fill the frame.

Leg 3 Selections: Chat Up Line, Marie’s Secret

CHAT UP LINE has proven form on soft ground and opened her account two starts at Nottingham on soft ground when beating a subsequent winner. She wasn’t beaten far when fourth at Thirsk last-time-out and has solid place claims. MARIE’S SECRET has shown promise in each of her three starts and will make her handicap debut off a basement mark, so Adrian Nicholls’ filly has to be included in this much easier race than last time.

Leg 4 Selections: Dasho Lennie

A competitive race but DASHO LENNIE returned a good third at Newbury last-time-out and should again be on the premises.

Leg 5 Selections: Latin Five

LATIN FIVE has continued to edge down the weights and is now effectively 10 pounds lower than when last successful. The six-year-old has remained in very good form of late, hitting the frame in his last four starts and is a former course-and-distance winner off a six pounds higher mark. I think he has an excellent chance of gaining a first win of the year.

Leg 6 Selections: Your Spirit, Jazzagal

YOUR SPIRIT and JAZZAGAL are the two I am going to nominate in this race. The former was in front of the latter at Beverley last-time-out when third and must be respected with a repeat performance, though the latter was at a disadvantage on the wrong side of the course and might be able to bridge the gap in this contest. She gets weight from all of her rivals and her sole win came over course-and-distance, too.

How does a Placepot work?

The more people who play the Placepot at a given meeting, the larger the pool will be. If less people find the winning combination across the six races, the bigger the winning dividend will be.

When placing your Tote Placepot bet, you can choose whether to make one or more selections in each race, which are referred to as lines.

Adding multiple lines in a race increases your chances of picking a horse that places. However, your total stake is determined ‘per line’, so the more lines you place the higher the stake will be.

To work out how much you have won, multiply your stake per line by the amount of winning lines you have. Your winnings will then be either that percentage of the published £1-stake winnings or a multiple of the published dividend.
