Leg 1 Selections: Measured Time, Botanical

This race should prove informative and MEASURED TIME looked potentially very smart when winning over course-and-distance on debut in February. He is open to further improvement and is drawn well in stall 4, so he is a definite for the shortlist. BOTANICAL was unlucky here on debut when beaten a neck but comfortably went one better at Hamilton when last spotted. He could emerge as the biggest threat to the favourite.

Leg 2 Selections: Quatre Bras, Tatateo

QUATRE BRAS showed fair ability when third on debut at Yarmouth but was out of his depth in a Group 2 at Newmarket. This is a much easier race and his owner, trainer and jockey enjoyed a nice winner a few days ago in France. He should go well at this level, while TATATEO has a nice-looking pedigree and James Ferguson is no stranger to success with debutants. He is drawn nicely in 4 and might offer some value in what is a pretty warm novice race.

Leg 3 Selections: Important Role, Imminent Victory

IMPORTANT ROLE is related to some very good horses and has the most attractive of pedigrees in this race. He fetched 625,000gns as a yearling and could be up to making a winning debut. IMMINENT VICTORY is also of interest based on breeding and is Patrick Owens only runner on the card. He has his team in good form at the moment and this son of Oasis Dream could turn out to be useful. Hopefully we can get a result with one of these in this particular leg of the pool.

Leg 4 Selections: John Steed, Love Yours

JOHN STEED hasn’t matched the form of his debut second at Bath but retains potential and is drawn very well. He could well advance his form on the all-weather, so warrants inclusion on the ticket. LOVE YOURS wasn’t beaten far when fifth over course-and-distance last month her trainer Ralph Beckett is in really good form with four winners from his last six at the time of writing this. This filly could go well and eliminate a few units to help our chances.

Leg 5 Selections: Let Life Happen, Fifth Harmonic

LET LIFE HAPPEN and FIFTH HARMONIC finished second and first at Carlisle when the pair were last seen and the former is weighted to potentially reverse the form on these terms. She was behind a subsequent winner on debut but gets seven pounds this time so has a decent chance. The latter, however, did beat the former by a length last-time-out and has possibilities of confirming that form despite being worse off at the weights. It is hard to split them.

Leg 6 Selections: Musical Tribute, Okami

MUSICAL TRIBUTE has been solid in defeat in all three starts this year, finishing third in each of those and will be better suited to this trip with Hayley Turner maintaining the partnership. I can see her mount running well again, while OKAMI got the job done at Chelmsford a couple of weeks ago on handicap debut and could follow-up if able to back that form up in this contest.
