Leg 1 Selections: Sinister Minister, Justshortofabubble
SINISTER MINISTER has made a nice start to his career over fences, placing in three of his four starts in this sphere, including over course-and-distance three weeks ago. He should be competitive with Harry Cobden in the saddle, while JUSTSHORTOFABUBBLE beat a 99-rated horse at Stratford last time and has a good chance if able to repeat that performance.

Leg 2 Selections: Courtland, Saint Arvans, Peregrine Run
A really competitive, intriguing race. The Summer Plate is the form-line I am sticking with as runner-up COURTLAND has been in superb form this summer and should again be in the mix over this longer trip. SAINT ARVANS who was fifth in that race has since finished second at Bangor and is also respected, while last year’s winner PEREGRINE RUN cannot be ruled out after winning this easily twelve months ago.

Leg 3 Selections: Captain’s Pick
CAPTAIN’S PICK ran well on debut when trained in Ireland when fifth in a race that has worked out very well before making an odds-on favourite work hard to beat him at Kilbeggan in June. That form is also useful and he has joined a good stable ahead of his British debut. He should have a say in the outcome on his first start for Christian Williams.

Leg 4 Selections: Kenzai Warrior, Painless Potter
KENZAI WARRIOR is a very classy horse on the Flat and ran his best race over hurdles to date when second over course-and-distance when last seen. He is surely well-handicapped off a mark of 108 with Daryl Jacob in the saddle and it would come as a surprise if he wasn’t going close in a race like this. PAINLESS POTTER has placed in all three starts over track and trip though and should also be thereabouts.

Leg 5 Selections: Craven Bay, Shandancer
CRAVEN BAY is steadily progressing over hurdles and ran well over track and trip when last seen to finish third having raced keenly throughout the race. He is open to a lot more improvement and should go well, while SHANDANCER hardly runs a bad race and should be able to make the frame again for the sixth time in his last seven starts. A first-time visor is applied as well, which could bring about improvement.

Leg 6 Selections: Hungry Hill, Classic Concorde
HUNGRY HILL opened his account emphatically at Uttoxeter last month and a five pounds rise seems fair given he won by six lengths. He could still be well-ahead of the handicapper and is the one to beat on that latest evidence. His main danger might turn out to be CLASSIC CONCORDE who is better off at the weights than when third behind the former last time.
