Leg 1 Selections: Get Jiggy With It

Not the strongest of events and it presents a good opportunity for GET JIGGY WITH IT to open her account, who brings the best form to the table having placed in both her starts to date.
She was beaten under a length on debut at Newmarket and that form has been advertised by the third winning since. She then matched that form when third at Goodwood and should have more to offer, so hopefully Oisin Murphy can guide her to success in the opener.

Leg 2 Selections: New Business, Wild Lion, Chartwell House

NEW BUSINESS ran well when fourth on his handicap debut at Sandown considering he raced keenly and had previously beaten the 93-rated Orchid Bloom, who has since won, as well as finishing third in a Listed event when last spotted, so this son of Sea The Stars makes plenty of appeal with his form-lines boosted.

On that form alone, Andrew Balding’s charge is very well-handicapped off a mark of 86 and could resume winning ways. WILD LION returned a good fourth in a stronger race at York last-time-out is respected, while CHARTWELL HOUSE has winning form over course-and-distance and can do best of the rest.

Leg 3 Selections: Ring Of Beara, Sun King, Premiere Ligne

RING OF BEARA finished last at Haydock last-time-out but that was his first start in nearly five months and there’s no doubt he is well-handicapped of 77 given he was rated as high as 93 last year. This will be only his ninth start in this sphere, so it would come as no surprise to see him outrun his odds with the ability to figure.

SUN KING ran a rare-poor race last time but he is generally consistent and is six pounds lower than when third in the Golden Gates Stakes at Royal Ascot last year. He has possibilities if he can prove his stamina over the trip, while PREMIERE LIGNE has had just the four starts in the UK and the addition of cheekpieces could bring about improvement.

Leg 4 Selections: Satono Japan, Light Up Our Stars

The top-weight SATONO JAPAN could be the answer to the fourth race. He has been winless since winning on his debut but has posted some very decent efforts in defeat, mostly in higher-grade events off higher marks. Once rated as high as 95, he ran well under a big weight at Ascot last time when fifth from his reduced mark and could feature.

I also think LIGHT UP OUR STARS will run well too, who I know hasn’t won for over a year but he did score over course-and-distance from a three pounds higher mark last year and Elisha Whittington can claim five pounds. The draw could have been kinder but he is well-handicapped a present and could give a prominent account of himself.

Leg 5 Selections: Bowland Park, Otago

I am pretty strong on the chances of top-weight BOWLAND PARK in the fifth race, who has course-and-distance-winning form off a higher mark in his inventory and has been solid in defeat in his last two starts off this mark. Being seven pounds below his last successful mark, a bold showing looks firmly on the cards.

OTAGO remains on the same mark as when scoring at Brighton back in April and hit the frame back at the same venue last time. He is a dual course winner and is drawn effectively in stall 2 with conditions to suit. The six-year-old has to merit consideration with a few of these out of form at present.

Leg 6 Selections: Secret Strength, La Maquina

SECRET STRENGTH is only a pound higher than when scoring at Newbury back in June and remains well-handicapped on the pick of last year's form as well. He has mixed form at this course but should he produce his best, he is entitled to be competitive against these.

Finally, LA MAQUINA is a multiple winner over this distance and has fallen to a mark that his nine pounds lower than scoring in a better race at Newmarket a couple of years ago. The eight-year-old has been running poorly of late but this is a career-low mark and could go well.
