INDEMNIFY (best price 7/2) had to be considered an unlucky loser here last time out and if you take that opinion he would now be 2-3 at today’s track with a clear run, Alice Haynes’ gelding rates a strong choice at the morning odds to reaffirm his love for the Esher slopes.

A previous winner on his first outing here back in May, the son of Lope De Vega performed more than respectably in a much tougher race on his return visit a month later before disappointing slightly on his penultimate start at Newmarket.

Back over his favoured C&D 13 days ago, the four-year-old grey was noted going well in behind the pace two furlongs out, but from that point onwards he failed to get any daylight whatsoever and, in the end, he had to settle for a minor role without never really coming out of third gear.

Dropping back down to seven furlongs today, he will obviously have to display better tactical speed to hold his position through the early exchanges but providing he can execute the first part of the plan, hopefully this time, the second part of the task becomes less problematic than last time.

FULFILLED (best price 7/2) has shown on a couple of occasions this season he is a useful weapon at this level when conditions are right and with the strong possibility today’s contest will be run at a more suitable gallop than the one he encountered here back in June, David Simcock’s inmate can prove he is potentially a good bit better than his current mark.

Coming from a fair way back to score on his seasonal bow at Ripon (fast speed figure), the son of Ulysees was well supported in his bid to follow over today’s C&D next time, but in a slowly run affair, his strengths weren’t seen to best advantage, and he could only keep on at the one pace to finish a never-nearer fourth.

Back on song at Lingfield next time when his useful turn of foot was seen to best effect, once again things didn’t quite pan out for at Windsor 16 days ago and he was left to rue not obtaining the clearest of passages at a crucial stage.

With perfect Play and Dancing In Paris in the line-up, he should get a decent pace to shoot at, and providing he is within hailing distance of the main players turning for home, the four-year-old can make his presence felt at the business end.

HEREDIA (best price 7/2) ran out a thoroughly convincing winner of a competitive listed race at Haydock last time out and, having gone well over today’s C&D in a similar contest in the past, Richard Hannon’s in-form filly looks booked to feature prominently again.

Unable to make an impact after being slowly away over seven furlongs on her two previous starts, connections decided to step her up in trip at the Merseyside venue 21 days ago and this time she made no mistake, staying on powerfully in the latter stages to win going away.

Clocking a smart speed figure into the bargain, the daughter of Dark Angel arrives here in the sort of shape than makes her impossible to resist with so much in her favour.

SILMANIYA (best price 11/4) seemed to be galvanised by the first-time visor at The Curragh last time out and with a slight alteration in headgear not seen as a negative step in any way, Johnny Murtagh’s filly can finally return to the sort of form that allowed her to post her only career win this time last season.

On the fringes of the main action on her first three starts this term, connections clearly felt she needed her mind focusing on the job at hand a little more at the Co Kildare venue a month ago and if it wasn’t for the strong finish of Little Queenie, the daughter of Expert Eye would have provided them with instant reward.

That said, the post-race data revealed she ran to career high in defeat and with the fourth going on to polish the form subsequently, confidence is high she can follow suit over a C&D that suits.

ZIMMERMAN (best price 4/1) came good towards the backend of last season, landing competitive handicaps in September and October when the ground turned in his favour and following his most recent success at Haydock, Tim Easterby’s gelding could be about to accomplish a similar feat a year on.

Running well over distances between 1m4f and 1m6f, the four-year-old was handed a proper test over two miles on heavy ground at the Merseyside venue 27 days ago and off a reasonably decent pace, he stayed on best of all to land the spoils close home.

On the evidence of that performance, and several others in recently times, a good examination with a bit of ease underfoot suits him best and with today’s contest being the last on the card, the likely chewed up ground will serve him better than most.

FINERY (best price 4/1) looked on good terms with herself when scoring in decisive fashion over C&D last time out and despite tonight’s contest representing a slightly sterner test, Michael Appleby’s inmate is fancied to follow up.

Disappointing since winning well at Southwell back in January, the daughter of Al Kazeem was freshened up with a view to coming back to one of her favourite venues and despite being off the track for 81 days, she cast that slight issue to one side with a performance that took her stats at the Essex venue to 121211.

Despite being well off the pace and racing wide around the home turn, she still had the requisite energy to power clear in the closing stages and even off her revised mark, she looks more than capable of holding her own again against similar opposition.
