Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's action at Worcester and Brighton.
14:45 Worcester
This looks a weak 0-100 handicap chase and I expect Saxon Queen (best priced at 7/2) to make a winning chasing debut in this race. The Peter Bowen trained six-year-old has been running consistently well so far this season with form figures of 2122 over hurdles including when 2nd by a head off a mark of 78 at Newton Abbot last time.
Saxon Queen runs here off only a 2lb higher mark in this race and she should prove hard to beat if she copes with the switch to fences. Connections fit her with first time cheekpieces which may help her attitude at the finish and she is expected to win with Sean Bowen back on board.
15:00 Brighton
Notre Maison (best priced at 5/2) brings the best recent form into this race and she should be able to add her to her course and distance win from earlier in the season. The Stuart Kittow trained four-year-old won in first time cheekpieces over this course and distance in June off a mark of 45 before following up at Ffos Las off a mark of 50 on her next start.
Notre Maison has run well to finish 3rd beaten 1 ½ lengths and 2nd beaten a neck over this course and distance on her latest two starts off a mark of 50 and she should hold strong claims off only a 2lb higher mark in this race.
15:35 Brighton
The Tom Ward trained Art Fantastique (best priced at 6/5) made a winning handicap debut last time at Windsor and he should hold strong claims off a 6lb higher mark. Having disappointed on his debut when quietly fancied at 12/1, the son of Harry Angel finished well beaten at big odds on his next two starts.
The handicapper gave him an opening mark of 49 and he stayed on strongly on his first run since being gelded to win by ½ length. The combination of the switch to handicaps, the gelding operation and first time tongue tie sparked an improved performance and he can hopefully repeat that in this race off a 6lb higher mark.
