Leg 1 Selections: Glory Nights, Rose Light

GLORY NIGHTS has undoubtedly been struggling for any sort of form lately but his earlier form, especially his second at Chelmsford, does entitle him to respect. He is an outsider to consider, while ROSE LIGHT was third off a higher mark on her handicap debut earlier this year and has been thereabouts the last twice.

Leg 2 Selections: Prince Ali

PRINCE ALI has been in very good form of late with four placed efforts and a recent success from his last six starts. He has been hit with a 4Ib rise for winning here last time but he had a bit up his sleeve in the closing stages and the double could well be on the cards given his recent body of work and course knowledge.

Leg 3 Selections: Edge Of Blue

EDGE OF BLUE is related to several winners and while he only won by a head, he was value for than the winning margin. Open to considerable improvement on his all-weather debut, he should take a lot of beating for a stable that has an exceptional record at this course. He is the only pick as I can’t see him out of the frame.

Leg 4 Selections: Imola

I am drawn to the claims of IMOLA who turned in a promising debut third at Kempton, where she did plenty wrong and still managed to hit the line strongest of all which was backed up by the clock. She will have learnt a lot from that experience and she is very well drawn here in stall 4. I think she’s a major player and can give the favourite plenty to think about.

Leg 5 Selections: Peripeteia

The top-weight PERIPETEIA is very well-handicapped on her return to the all-weather given her last success came over C&D off an 8Ib higher mark in a much stronger race. Rab Havlin is an interesting jockey booking and Phil Kirby’s mare is the one to beat in what is a weak contest. I think she ticks all the right boxes for this, so she’s a confident choice to at least fill the frame.

Leg 6 Selections: Way Of Life, Chase The Dollar

WAY OF LIFE has C&D-winning form and went close here two starts ago off only a 2Ib lower mark. He runs this course effectively well and should again be on the premises. CHASE THE DOLLAR was well-held at Chester last time but is dangerously well-treated and won a much stronger race at Kempton earlier this year off a 5Ib higher mark. He can make his presence felt.
