Leg 1 Selections: Pinjarra

I am quite strong on the chances of PINJARRA in the opener. He caught the eye when fifth on debut at Nottingham before building on that to take third here last time. He hit the line strongly despite not settling in the early stages, so it is possible the drop in trip will suit. He is open to further improvement and can run a big race.

Leg 2 Selections: Blue Flame, Laura’s Breeze

BLUE FLAME has been in really good form of late, placing in his last couple of starts, and was only beaten a head seven days ago. All of his wins and placed efforts in handicaps have come off higher marks, so he is sure to be competitive with plenty in his favour.

LAURA’S BREEZE heads the list of dangers, who was only a place behind the former when third here last week and has been left on the same mark for this contest. She is a much bigger price of the pair mentioned but shouldn’t be ruled out with more to come.

Leg 3 Selections: Fantastic Fox, Pjanoo, Cry Havoc

This is a wide-open race so I am going to recommend playing three against the field. The first one is FANTASTIC FOX who ran well when fifth of 14 in a stronger race at Kempton last time and could feature from a career-low mark with Oisin Murphy an interesting addition to the saddle.

PJANOO has run with credit the last twice since scoring at Windsor and has a workable mark and draw, so he is one to note. CRY HAVOC won off a four pounds higher mark the last time he ran here and could bounce back from a favourable low draw. He is the most interesting outsider.

Leg 4 Selections: Al Tarfa, Got No Dollars

AL TARFA has only found the same rival too good in each of his last couple of starts and is only a pound higher for this contest with plenty of improvement on the cards. Without that rival in today’s line-up, this is a good chance for him to go one place better.

GOT NO DOLLARS could capitalise on the weight concession from the remainder. He has course-winning form and was second at this course last April off a 16 pounds higher mark as well. He is ideally drawn in stall 4 and should give a good account of himself.

Leg 5 Selections: Cuban Breeze, Dashing Dick

CUBAN BREEZE has been keeping much stronger company in the last couple of months and the last time he ran on the all-weather, he finished an unlucky third off top-weight over course-and-distance off a mark of 83 when given too much to do.

Down to a six pounds lower mark with Hollie Doyle in the saddle plus a nice draw in stall 3, he can go well at appealing odds. DASHING DICK is only a pound higher than when he won in August on the turf at Newmarket and has a solid record of 223 at this course. He is another outsider to merit consideration.

Leg 6 Selections: Cloudy Breeze, Arlecchino’s Gift

CLOUDY BREEZE has been well-held in her two recent outings but she is back on the same mark as when a nose-second at Windsor in which she split higher-rated rivals and is drawn nicely in stall 1.

A repeat of that effort in this race would be enough to come out on top. ARLECCHINO’S GIFT, however, was only beaten a neck into second over track and trip last time and is another to consider.
