Mahon’s Way was impressive on his hurdling debut at Naas but the standard is set by Search For Glory (best priced at 5/2) who finished 3rd in a Grade 3 last time at Navan. The Gordon Elliott trained six-year-old placed behind both Good Land and Monty’s Star last season before slightly disappointing at both the Cheltenham and Aintree festivals when sent off big prices. He returned this season with an easy 10 length success at Galway before stepping back into graded company last time.

Search For Glory finished 3rd behind stablemates Croke Park and Mel Monroe that day shaping like the step back up in trip to 3 miles would suit. Connections have fitted him with first time cheekpieces for this race and he should prove hard to beat with Jack Kennedy taking back over on board.

This looks a competitive handicap hurdle but preference goes to the course and distance winner Skinnider (best priced at 9/1). The Martin Hassett trained six-year-old has improved since going handicapping and defied odds of 28/1 to win over this course and distance off a mark of 92 in April. She finished 3rd over 2m4f here on his next start off a mark of 100 where she appeared to struggle over the extra half a mile.
Skinnider drops back down to 2 miles in this race and if she is ready to go on her reappearance after 218 days off the track then she should run well with four places on offer.
