Andy Holding is back with two tips for today's action, including a NAP at Catterick.
15:45 Catterick
TOM CODY (NAP) (best price 7-2) just lost out in the final bounds of a protracted dual with the progressive Val Dancer here last time out but with the data from that race a month ago pointing towards him running a career high by some margin, Rebecca Menzies’ inmate has bright prospects of returning to winning ways.
Having been beaten fair and square by his old rival at Wetherby previously, connections were clearly keen on having another crack at Mel Rowley’s gelding here last time out and for majority of the final circuit he looked like turning the tables in a significant way.
Picking up the running with a good jump three out, the son of Morozov established what appeared an unassailable lead, but he began to faulter after jumping the last and with the eventual winner rallying to the cause, sensing he had another chance, he got collared in the dying strides.
Looking at the figures for the pair that day, not only did they run an overall time 12.8 seconds quicker than the 129-rated Omar Maretti over the same C&D, but the last circuit was also covered in an incredible 11.4 seconds better than the stronger handicap on paper, suggesting they were cracking on at a rare old pace.
Given time recover from that bruising encounter, he heads back to the scene of that superb effort knowing that a repeat of something similar is likely to provide favourite Haston Clermont with all the trouble he can handle.

MACANUDO (best price 12-1) scored in tidy fashion at Chelmsford last time out, posted a smart speed figure into the bargain, and providing new connections have managed to keep him in the same sort of shape in the interim, Ian Williams’ gelding can continue his progress.
A massive eye-catcher over tonight’s C&D previously, the three-year-old was nicely supported to justify the impression he created that day at the Essex circuit a month later and, after travelling well in behind a solid early pace, he came through strongly in the latter stages to win a shade cosily.
Recording the fastest furlong-per-furlong time on the seven-race card, the form of the contest has already been boosted by the third home next time out and now gone to a yard who regularly punch above their weight with sprinters, the son of Invincible Spirit can take advantage off what still appears a workable mark back in this sphere.
