I think the favourite is a stand out bet here. Aidan O’Brien has carried all before him in this race, winning six of the last 10 runnings.

He has a huge chance of adding another win to that list with the likely market leader, YLANG YLANG.

She continued to progress and learn as last season went on, ending with a Group 1 victory in the Fillies Mile at Newmarket in October.

She was only getting going at the end of the race, and won it at the line with a power-packed finish.

She’s began this season with a solid run in the 1000 Guineas.

She again stayed on at the end into fourth place, with the suggestion of this step up in trip to be very much in her favour.

That race is already working out well, with eighth placed Fallen Angel winning the Irish 1000 Guineas last weekend and the 17th placed Darnation winning the German Guineas in Düsseldorf.

This £1,500,000 daughter of Frankel is likely to be a warm order for the master of Ballydoyle, but he’s in-form.

With that seasonal debut run showing her in good health too, I think she will take all the beating from a good draw (see Architect's runner-by-runner guide and stall draw here).

Although plenty to find on the figures, especially with the favourite City Of Troy, I will chance that DEIRA MILE will be staying on when some have cried enough.

He’s quirky to say the least, and has chinks as shown on his three runs with the Johnston Yard.

But, I hope he has turned a new leaf since joining his current yard at Owen Burrows.
His first run for the team was in the Group 1 Futurity at Doncaster.

He was staying on at the line having been stuck in behind horses, and once he seen the daylight he was the one horse making up ground.

The re-opposing winner of that race, Ancient Wisdom, had first run and won it well, and he’s since ran second in the Dante at York.

The second, Devil’s Point, won the German 2000 Guineas, and the sixth was fourth in a Group 1.

Dancing Gemini, who also runs here, was behind that day and returned with a half-length second in the Grade 1 Poulain In France a few weeks back. 

So the form is working out.

Reappearing this season, Deira Mile returned with a very cosy win at odds-on at Windsor, a race he was entitled to win.

But, he put daylight between him and his rivals, with long margins to the rest of the field.

He handled any soft in the ground, and that recent win was on officially ground described as “good”.

I’m willing to take on City Of Troy after his Guineas flop, and now he’s been drawn in stall one of 16, I have even more reason to (stall draw and runner-by-runner guide here).

I hope Deira Mile can at least fill the frame at the prices, if not win it, and replicate his Derby winning sire Camelot.
