After an 11/2 winner yesterday Steve Ryder is back with three tips for today's horse racing action.
19:55 Ripon
The Ben Haslam trained FORTAMOUR (best priced at 4/1) has a good record over this course and distance and he should hold strong claims off the same mark as when beaten only two lengths here a month ago. The eight-year-old is a five-time course and distance winner on ground ranging from good to heavy including off a mark of 85 a couple of years ago.
Fortamour won over this course and distance on his penultimate start off a mark of 75 before finishing 4th beaten two lengths last time when looking outpaced throughout the contest. Hopefully Joanna Mason can get Fortamour in a more prominent position in this race and he looks sure to run well once again.

Fresh from his 25th UK and Irish classic victory in the Oaks on Friday, Dermot Weld can hopefully get improvement out of ZARAGOZA (best priced at 10/1) on his handicap debut. The son of Profitable cost E200,000 yearlings as a yearling but has so far proved disappointing on his three starts in maiden company.
Zaragoza has been gelded since his final qualifying run and is now fitted with first time cheekpieces on his handicap debut off an opening mark of only 58. At a double figure price he looks worth taking a chance on that he is well handicapped off that lowly opening mark.

Bellasio is respected on his handicap debut but preference instead goes to the top weight GEORGIE WOOSTER (best priced at 9/4) who got off the mark on his handicap debut at Redcar a fortnight ago and should hold strong claims off a 6lb higher mark. The Tim Easterby trained gelding ran with credit in three maiden/novice races this season before winning off an opening mark of 61.
The form of that victory is working out well with the both the runner-up Kode Secret and the third Loose Tongue winning on their next starts so a 6lb rise could prove lenient. David Allen is once again on board and he should prove hard to beat.
