ADRENALINE RUSH (best price 5-1) stayed on in taking fashion to finish a never-nearer sixth in quite a warm maiden over today’s course last month and that vital experience of racing over this stiff track can work to his advantage in the final analysis.

Racing just off the pace during the early exchanges at the Kildare venue, Jessica Harrington’s inmate was momentarily outpaced until picking up nicely once meeting the rising ground and he was going on strongest of all as he hit the line.

Based on that effort, the extra furlong he encounters on his return visit will suit and history dictates sometimes being drawn wide at this track isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

CARRYTHEONE (NAP) (best price 4-1) was arguably one of the unluckiest losers at Royal Ascot and with today’s race offering the most obvious opportunity to put matters right, Michael Bell’s inmate rates a strong choice to back up that view despite the complexities of the task at hand.

Held up towards the rear at the Berkshire track, the seven-year-old proceeded to run down a blind alley for the thick end of three furlongs and by the time he had dug himself out of a hole, the bird, in the shape of English Oak, had very much flown.

Finishing his race off full of running, it was easy to draw to the conclusion he would have won with anything like a clear run and with his previous victory over on the Rowley Mile going along way to indicate he likes a big, galloping track with stiff finish, the switch to the July Course should play naturally into his strengths

The Equator seemingly holds all the aces here with a rating of 101 putting him well clear of the rest, but if there is to be a shock, it might come from GOING REMOTE (best price 9-1) who appears to be improving at a rapid rate and also has experience of racing over today’s C&D.

A fast-finishing runner-up behind Old Faithful here two starts ago, he left the impression he may be seen to even better advantage when upped in trip and that notion came to fruition in decisive fashion at Down

Royal last time as he ran away with the Ulster Derby over 1m5f.
Clocking a fast speed figure that day, his trajectory is clearly heading in the right direction and even though ideally, he could do with a similar sort of trip to be seen at his best, a chance is taken they go a good enough gallop to bring his stamina into play once meeting the rising ground.

WITCH HUNTER (best price 6-1) hasn’t managed to get his head in front this season but there have been some bright moments along the way and a repeat of either of his two performances at Group 1 level should be good enough to see Richard Hannon lay down claims to land this prize.

A creditable third in the Lockinge at Newbury was backed up by another fine effort when fourth in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot and his latest effort in a Group 3 at Newmarket suggests it can only be a matter of time before he gains his due rewards.

Staying on nicely in the closing stages of a tactical, small field affair, he left the impression he would be better suited by returning to a more competitive environment and having run well on his two previous visits to the Roodee, including when third in this race last season, the five-year-old can reward solid each-way support.
