GREEK FLOWER (best price 9-1) ran out the moral winner of the Rockingham Handicap here last time out and now racing back over her optimum trip, John Feane’s likeable mare looks set fair to make amends at rewarding odds.
Carried right by Little Queenie coming out of the stalls, the five-year-old found herself shuffled back towards the tail of the field in the early stages but with a powerful late rattle, she somehow passed all 14 rivals who raced over towards the nearside only to find that Amazon Lady pinching the race on her own over on the far rail.
The quickest horse from three out at the Kildare venue with 32.9 (next best 33.5) she now heads back up to a trip that last allowed her to be successful over today’s C&D just short of a year ago and from a favourable middle draw, early cover she see her deep closing run style be seen to good effect.

MANUELITO (best price 7-1) slightly fluffed his lines when beaten at short odds on the Flat at Carlisle last time out but other than that blip, he’s been in cracking form over hurdles, and he looks just the type who will be suited by the hurly burly nature of this test.
Good on the numbers when capturing a maiden hurdle at Wincanton back in April, David Pipe’s gelding was even more impressive on his first handicap start at Ffos Las a month later and it’s that performance which whets the appetite regarding his chances to this afternoon’s examination.
Clearly at home in a well-run environment on good ground, connections must have been licking their lips at the prospect of a favourable forecast during the week and a prominent pitch throughout can yield maximum rewards.
15:15 Market Rasen
The Bowen family have a rich tradition in this valuable summer prize and STATUARIO (best price 9-1) looks set to continue the trend following on from his two recent victories under similar conditions.
The nine-year-old kick started his summer with a game victory at Perth back in May and despite racing against a totally different class of opponent over the same C&D a month later, he still proved equal to the task.
Posting a smart speed figure at the Scottish circuit, he once again showed excellent battling qualities to fend off subsequent winner Hang In There and having run well to finish third in this race last season, it’s easy to see him featuring prominently again.

No standout filly in this year’s Irish Oaks so it might well pay to side with one still open to a huge amount of improvement, step forward HANALIA.
One of the least experienced in the field with just the three runs so far to date, Johnny Murtagh’s filly built on a highly promising debut at Gowran when scoring at the second time of asking at over today’s course and upped significantly in grade, she went on to justify being pitched against listed fillies at Naas on her most recent outing.
Coming from a long way back at the Kildare venue, the daughter of Sea The Stars exhibited a fine blend of speed and stamina to wear down her pray late on and with the data and subsequent form of the third, Greenfinch, speaking favourably of the display, she thoroughly deserves a crack at a higher level.
Clearly very smart and going in the right direction, her attitude is another attribute she has in abundance and with a step up in trip likely to play into her strengths, she commands more respect than the market affords her (was 16-1 at time of writing yesterday).

CAN’T BEAT HISTORY (best price 7-1) has a good record racing right-handed and with two of his most recent victories coming over today’s course, Henry Oliver’s charge looks set to shine again on his return to the Lincolnshire venue.
A comfortable winner on his first visit here a year ago, the eight-year-old has recorded two chase wins since and following an uncharacteristically poor effort at Bangor two starts ago (going left -handed), he bounced back to form with a convincing display over hurdles.
Always travelling well 29 days ago, he picked up the running on the run down to the last and although he was pressed all the way by subsequent winner Bullion Boss on the run-in, he had enough in the tank to repel his nearest pursuer.
Noted for clocking some smart speed figures for the grade throughout his seven-race career over fences, the likes of Easy Bucks, O’Faolains Glory and Backbyjet should ensure the race is run to suit and he looks a tasty price considering there seems to be plenty in his favour.

The Group 3 won by Tiffany at Newcastle recently was highlighted by a very strong speed figure and SEA OF ROSES (best price 12-1) and SHINING JEWEL (best price 9-1), having made a small contribution to the outcome of that event, are fancied to fly the flag for the race with distinction.
The former did well to finish as close considering she had plenty of ground to make up off the home turn and it’s safe to say that effort was by someway her best in her career so far to date. The latter suffered from racing wide through the early exchanges and paid for those exertions inside the final two furlongs, but she did keep on well enough to finish a respectable fifth and considering it was her first run for 126 days, expect Cahrlie Appleby’s filly to strip fitter this time around.
