Don't miss Andy holding's NAP of the day at Newmarket!
15:07 Doncaster
WRECK IT RYLEY (best price 8-1) did amazingly well to salvage something from the wreckage here last time out and with today’s return to the same venue and step back up in trip seen as two positives, Alan Brown’s grey can finally gain his due rewards for a consistent season.
The meat in the sandwich after exiting the stalls 23 days ago, the four-year-old, as a result, took quite a while to find his rhythm in the early stages and he found himself fully ten lengths off the pace at halfway.
Finishing strongest of all from two out, however, he worked his way through the field to get himself within three quarters of a length behind the eventual winner at the line and considering his path was momentarily interrupted at a crucial stage, it’s safe to say he may have well won without the interference.
Posting a career high speed figure by some margin, he returns to the scene of the crime with an extra furlong to help and it would come as something of a surprise if he didn’t have a say in the outcome.

CABRERA (NAP) (best price 5-2) is one of those improving fillies that it often pays to keep on side at this time of the season and with her breakthrough success at Doncaster last time out carrying forward plenty of clout, Ed Bethell’s inmate looks primed to take advantage of what appears a lenient mark on handicap debut.
In the money on all four of her previous starts, the daughter of Phoenix Of Spain was presented with the chance of taking home a decent pot on Town Moor and in a race that was keenly run from the outset, she came through powerfully to claim the prize with a bit to spare.
Relishing the step up in trip and galloping track, she accounting for subsequent winner Miss Cynthia (rated 96) in a fast time and with the assessor only seeing fit to bump her up marginally in the ratings (80 to 83), she has the scope and potential to make a mockery of that judgement.
16:00 Curragh
It’s a little surprising to see last season’s St Leger winner, Continuous racing over 1m2f here today and although he may easily have the class to cope with a bug drop back in trip, at the same time he’s no one’s bargain at his morning odds.
More to the point, he certainly wouldn’t want this race to turn into a tactical affair but that could well prove to be the case if Declan McDonogh gets the fractions right on his mount, TRUSTYOURINSTINCT (best price 6-1).
Although Joseph O’Brien’s inmate did manage to win over hurdles, it’s fair to say he didn’t quite meet up to expectations but since switching back to the Flat, he has proved to be a totally different proposition and his latest effort over today’s C&D bares testimony to that view.
Setting out to make all in his usual, bold front-running fashion, the son of Churchill has all his rivals at full stretch turning for home and it ended up with Jan Brueghel having to put in one huge shift to get the better of him in the closing stages.
As we know, his conqueror has gone on to boost the form at Goodwood since and with today’s quicker ground set to play more into his strengths, he rates more than just a dangerous floater granted an uncontested lead.
19:42 Bath
The race won by Shagraan at Goodwood recently was noted for its strong overall speed figure and with the form already beginning to take shape courtesy of Toca Madera scoring at Windsor two days ago, it makes sense to have more than a passing glance at MAKE IT EASY (best price 7-2) in this much weaker contest.
Until the final day of the meeting at the Sussex track, most of the main action took place down the centre of the course on the straight track so stall 16 of 16 was always going to make life difficult for Nigel
Tinkler’s filly to overcome. However, despite this impost, she managed to get within hailing distance of the main players from the rear of the field and with her finishing split of 33.0 from three furlongs out only bettered by the first two home (32.5 and 32.7), she clearly ran way beyond the sum of her parts.
Despite this massive effort, the assessor has rather mistakenly dropped her from 76 to 73 and that error along with the fact she now drops two grades back down to Class 5 company, the daughter of Mehmas is fancied to make the trip from her Yorkshire base a worthwhile one.
