Both Roscioli and We’renotreallyhere arrive following wins last time out but preference instead goes to KRACKING (best priced at 9/4) who should prove hard to beat if replicating his recent turf form. The Stuart Williams trained four-year-old was an impressive 8 ½ length winner at Salisbury on his penultimate start off a mark of 60 before finishing 2nd when racing too keenly on Monday.

That run last time was in theory off a mark of 67 but Kracking runs here off a mark of 62 meaning that he is 5lbs lower than last time and also 8lbs “well in” at the weights based on his new adjusted rating of 70. Luke Catton takes over on board taking off a handy 3lbs and he should prove hard to beat from Stall 1.

15:00 York

Both Elnajmm and New Image are ahead of their adjusted marks under 6lb penalties but I feel this way go to course specialist BLUE FOR YOU (best priced at 9/1). The David O’Meara trained six-year-old is a three-time course and distance winner as well as two more close 2nd placed efforts when beaten less than ½ length.

Blue For You won this race in 2022 off a mark of 96 before winning over this course and distance last season off a mark of 99. He repeated that success this season off a mark of 95 and is now back up to a mark of 99 for this race. He can be excused his latest effort at Goodwood when only beaten 5 ¼ lengths and he looks sure to run well with up to six places available.

20:15 Newcastle

Heathcliff is 2/2 over 7f but 0/4 over 6f so he looks vulnerable back down in trip from Stall 14 and preference instead goes to PRINCE OF ZENDA (best priced at 13/2) for The North. The Hugo Palmer trained four-year-old has form figures of 122 at Newcastle in his career including when only beaten 1 ¼ lengths last time over 5f off a mark of 91.

The handicapper has dropped Prince Of Zenda 1lb for that run which is very lenient and he looks sure to run well with four places widely available.

20:45 Newcastle

Unexposed three-year-olds head the market for this race but a small chance is taken on JUMBY (best priced at 17/2) who makes his AW debut at the age of six. The Eve Johnson Houghton trained gelding has had an aggressive campaign this month with three runs in twelve days but if he can replicate his most recent 3rd place finish in the Hungerford Stakes then he should prove a class above these.

Jumby finished only a short neck behind Tiber Flow in a Group 2 last time and he gets to run here off a mark of 100 which is the same mark as when 3rd at Newmarket behind Fifty Nifty and Waiting All Night who has boosted the form since and is now rated 4lbs higher. Jumby runs here from 9lbs “well in” at the weights in comparison to his adjusted rating and he can hopefully take advantage of that in what will surely be his final run in handicap company for a while.
