FANCY GIRL may be able to bounce back after a heavy fall on her chase debut at Thurles. The Champs Elysees mare had jumped well until getting things all wrong at the seventh fence. She was returning from a lengthy absence, after showing some smart form over timber, and is up to landing a race of this standard. Kilbarry Saint has the top mark of 125 and has to be respected. She ran a solid race when third in Grade 3 company over timber last time and has regularly shown up well in good races. Gaoth Chuil hasn't looked a natural over fences, but is a talented sort and also has to be on the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Fancy Girl 2nd Kilbarry Saint 3rd Gaoth Chuil

TELL US THIS has the benefit of chase experience and comes here off the back of a good run to finish runner-up at Thurles early last month. He chased home Quornofamonday in handicap company and is fancied to go one better. Lagoon Nebula is rated 109 over hurdles so this looks like an ideal starting point over fences and, with her mares' allowance, she could be nicely treated. Ciaran Murphy has his string in fine form and Soldante is one to note on his return from an absence.
Prediction : 1st Tell Us This 2nd Lagoon Nebula 3rd Soldante

BROWN BOOTS may be able to score again now back over fences. The Affinisea gelding was impressive in a handicap chase at Navan back in January before following up over hurdles here the following month. He was edged out in a tight finish at Naas last time and there may be scope for a bit more from him. Live To Laugh was an impressive winner at Thurles three weeks ago and bids to defy a 10lb hike. He looks like an obvious danger. The consistent Plain Or Battered, third behind the selection at Navan, could be place material again.
Prediction : 1st Brown Boots 2nd Live To Laugh 3rd Plain Or Battered

BOEDIC has run well to be placed on his last two outings and may be able to make the breakthrough. It was a solid run to finish third to Court Compliance at Punchestown last month and a similar effort may be enough to get the job done. There isn't much between him and San Hilario according to the handicapper. Gordon Elliott's charge has picked up plenty of minor money, with his recent efforts coming over further. Hey Now shaped nicely on his debut in a Naas bumper in December and that form has worked out well. He's one to note on his hurdling bow.
Prediction : 1st Boedic 2nd San Hilario 3rd Hey Now

SOUND JUDGEMENT ran into a smart mare in Galileo Dame at Navan last month and this looks like an easier task. That was a much better effort, after pulling up on her previous outing at Fairyhouse, and she had a solid yardstick in Shadys Lady back in third. A similar run should be enough. Jury Belle showed improvement when fourth to Run For Mahler at Thurles back in October. She's been given a mark of 104 since and should be a contender after her break. Early Bird was outclassed in Grade 3 company, but the Tramore bumper winner could play a bigger role now.
Prediction : 1st Sound Judgement 2nd Jury Belle 3rd Early Bird

UNCLE GERHARD has slipped to a nice mark and may be worth a shot here. The Jeremy gelding ran well last time at Gowran and was bang there when making a slight error at the last. It was a solid effort to finish fourth to Royal Soldier and, off 1lb lower, there is a race in him. Courtbrack Boy is an obvious contender after an easy success here last month. He went up 7lb for that victory in attritional conditions and there may be a bit more to come from the six-year-old. Loi Des Jeux didn't run too badly on his handicap debut at Punchestown in mid-January and could be a potential improver.
Prediction : 1st Uncle Gerhard 2nd Courtbrack Boy 3rd Loi Des Jeux

ODE TO JOY kept on nicely on her handicap debut at Naas earlier in the month and may be able to strike now. The six-year-old came from the rear when finishing fourth to Rathbawn Soldier and going up slightly in trip should benefit her. Spellacy's Cross returns from a little break and looks well-in compared to his chase mark, which is 18lb higher. He has to be respected, particularly as he won twice at this course in the autumn. Opposite Ends was a solid third behind easy winner Courtbrack Boy here last month and is another who has to come into calculations.
Prediction : 1st Ode To Joy 2nd Spellacys Cross 3rd Opposite Ends

SCARECROW is a interesting runner on his debut for Willie Mullins. The Walk In The Park gelding is a half-brother to Getabird, who had such a big reputation early in his career and ended up winning twice at Grade 2 level. Detroit Maverick sets the standard having been runner-up in two bumpers already. The Flemensfirth gelding has been beaten by two Mullins horses on both track starts to date and connections will be hoping to make it third-time lucky. Point-to-point winner Ballydine Boy is one to note in the market on his racecourse bow.
Prediction : 1st Scarecrow 2nd Detroit Maverick 3rd Ballydine Boy
