HOVE RANGER has progressed well since beginning life in handicap company, with a runner-up effort at Lingfield followed by him getting off the mark at Kempton in February. Returning from a break off a 2lb higher mark, it seems likely that going up in trip will see Gary & Josh Moore's gelding in an even better light. Lavender Gold should appreciate ground conditions on his second outing following wind surgery and has to be respected, along with Three Socks On.

MR FREEDOM returned from over a year off with a fine effort to finish third at Salisbury, despite not getting the clearest of runs. The handicapper left him on the same mark following that display, which gives him an ideal opportunity to get his head back in front. Cruden was fifth in the aforementioned contest, but is better judged on his nose second over C&D the time before. Maasai Mara completes the shortlist.

Killavia was highly tried last term and her Sandown reappearance effort would suggest she can make a real fist of things in handicaps this season. Comic Strip heads the remaining trio.
