LAW COURT won a shade cosily here last month and is taken to confirm that form with The Joker and Loblolly, who filled the places. A 4lb higher mark obviously complicates matters, but the son of Blue Point wasn't showing any signs of stopping near the finish and can cement his authority over this slightly longer trip. Mohaaraj made a successful handicap debut at Haydock and is another with more to offer.
Prediction : 1st Law Court 2nd Loblolly 3rd The Joker

Beaten only a neck at Wolverhampton, CITY QUEEN looks worthy of another chance back on the turf. Forced to race wide, she finished strongly for third and Toby Moore's 7lb allowance could give the Godolphin filly the edge in an open affair. Thirsk novice winner Karvala is one to note upped in trip for her handicap debut, while the returning Flash Of Fire looks on a decent mark and Hatour is not out of it either.
Prediction : 1st City Queen 2nd Karvala 3rd Flash Of Fire

Words Of Truth is penalised for winning the Mill Reef at Newbury last autumn. Charlie Appleby's charge also drops in distance, so stable companion MILITARY CODE is marginally preferred. The dual novice winner just missed out in Listed races over the minimum trip here and at York last term and could make a bold bid on his reappearance. Manatee Mehmas was far from disgraced when fourth in Listed company on the Knavesmire last month, while Poatan could make his presence felt.
Prediction : 1st Military Code 2nd Words Of Truth 3rd Manatee Mehmas

Beagle Bay made an impressive handicap debut at Yarmouth and should have more to give now he tackles a mile again. However, a 9lb rise looks harsh and of greater appeal is HIGH DEGREE. A respectable second to one more proven over 1m2f on his return at Newbury, reverting to a mile should ideally suit the William Haggas-trained gelding. Raammee won both his starts as a three-year-old, but his opening mark of 95 seemed to find him out on his return over C&D last month.
Prediction : 1st High Degree 2nd Beagle Bay 3rd Raammee

WEZZEER got off the mark in a game manner on Tapeta at Southwell and then wasn't disgraced when a close second under a penalty at Carlisle. The type to improve now he goes handicapping, this son of Sioux Nation looks a fair prospect. Last-time-out winners Sovereign Ocean and Spirit Of Saxony are dangerous to underestimate, despite both taking a step up in class. Sticktoyourguns is another potential improver on his handicap bow.
Prediction : 1st Wezzeer 2nd Sovereign Ocean 3rd Spirit Of Saxony

Turty Tree isn't without his quirks, evidenced when hanging at Newmarket last time, and connections reach for first-time cheekpieces in the hope of ironing them out. He's sure to go close if they have the desired effect, but HUMPHREY gets the vote. The Pinatubo colt is related to a couple of smart stayers, notably Gregory, so it would come as no surprise were he more than good enough at the first time of asking. Upper East can chase the pair home.
Prediction : 1st Humphrey 2nd Turty Tree 3rd Upper East

A few will fancy their chances in this concluding handicap, but PYLEATES might offer some value. William Muir & Chris Grassick know the family well having trained all four of her siblings, notably the top-class Pyledriver, and although not at that sort of level, she could find real progress over this type of distance. Double Meaning should benefit from a return to further, while Macari enters the equation, and don't rule out Percy Shelley, who filled the runner-up spot over hurdles having failed to see out 2m on the level at Goodwood prior.
Prediction : 1st Pyleates 2nd Double Meaning 3rd Macari
