TIP 1: Carry The Flag - 1pt

Best odds of 14/5 available at AK Bets while publishing.

The Aidan O’Brien trained CARRY THE FLAG (best priced at 14/5) has had two pieces of his form boosted this week at Royal Ascot and he can provide his trainer with a record fifth victory in this race. The No Nay Never colt finished 2 nd on his debut on soft ground at the Curragh behind the reopposing Star Prospect before beating Albany Stakes runner-up Sun Goddess by a head at Naas.

Carry The Flag then finished 2 nd behind Coventry Stakes winner Great Barrier Reef last time in the Marble Hill Stakes when finding 6f too far. This drop back in trip to 5f will suit and he is well drawn in Stall 13.

TIP 2: Goliath - 0.5pt EW

Best odds of 5/1 at PricedUp while publishing.

GOLIATH (best priced at 5/1) was an impressive winner of the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth
Stakes in 2024 when he beat subsequent Arc De Triomphe winner Bluestocking and Breeders’ Cup Turf winner Rebel’s Romance by over two lengths and he should relish this return to Ascot.

He placed in the Hong Kong Vase and Amir Trophy before returning from a 106 day break to win the Group 2 Grand Prix De Chantilly last time.

The fast ground will suit Goliath better than Kalpana and he can hopefully provide his trainer Francis Henri Graffard with a second winner of the week.

TIP 3: Satono Reve - 1pt

Best odds of 3/1 at AK Bets while publishing.

SATONO REVE (best priced at 3/1) finished 2 nd beaten only ½ length last year behind Lazzat and he should be able to go one better with Ryan Moore taking over on board. The seven-year-old is a two- time Grade 1 winner in Japan and has had the same preparation as last season. He won the Grade 1 Takamatsunomiya Kinen on his reappearance again before finishing 2 nd behind Ka Ying Rising in the Group 1 Chairman’s Sprint last time.

Satono Reve is well drawn in Stall 18 in comparison to Joliestar in 9 and Lake Forest in 1 and he looks the one to beat back at this track.

TIP 4:- SOLDIER’S TREE - 0.5pt EW

Best odds of 18/1 available at bet365 while publishing.

The least exposed horse in the Wokingham this season is SOLDIER’S TREE (best priced at 18/1) who
makes his handicap debut on only his fifth career start. The lightly raced five-year-old was an impressive six-length winner at Dundalk in January before finishing 2 nd in a listed race at Cork on his next start when trained by Matty Tynan.

Soldier’s Tree was bought and transferred to James Owen following that run where he finished 3 rd beaten less than a length by Almeraq, who runs in the Group 1 at 3:40, and Spy Chief who is well fancied for this race despite having to give Soldier’s Tree 1lb this time. He is well drawn in Stall 14 and looks overpriced based on his profile.

TIP 5: LE DESTRIER - 1pt

Best odds of 9/2 at William Hill while publishing.

Illinois put in a lifeless effort when tailed off early and beaten 142 lengths in the Coronation Cup at Epsom but would be the one to beat if bouncing back to the form of his Gold Cup 2 nd behind Trawlerman last year. Preference instead goes to LE DESTRIER (best priced at 9/2) who was returning from a 691 day break to finish 3 rd beaten only 1 ¼ lengths behind Scandinavia on his stable debut for Willie Mullins.

That form has obviously received a huge boost with the winner triumphant in the Gold Cup on Thursday and Le Destrier now drops from Group 3 level into this conditions race. He only has 5lbs to find with Illinois on official ratings and can provide his trainer with a record extending sixth victory in this race.
