Rogue Passion ran green on her debut at Catterick but should also be wiser and have more to offer, while Fern Clyde commands respect, despite picking up a 4lb penalty after breaking her maiden at Pontefract.

With five wins in 2026 already, Roaring Ralph is a credit to connections and must be on the shortlist. The downside is that flatter surfaces appear to suit him best and this uphill finish might not be ideal. A four-time course winner, Coolree has nothing to prove in that regard and he could have a bigger say back here. Nevertheless, preference is for THIS FARH, who had a length to spare over the latter when he won over C&D last month and is dependable enough to uphold the form.

Tamzan has been consistent without winning and it's interesting to see her pitched back into maiden company. It's been a quiet time for the yard, so any support in the betting would be noteworthy. However, REGAL DESIRE is open to much more improvement and could be the answer if she builds on the promising second from her debut at Southwell last month. Three No Trumps and Alterity are others to keep an eye on.

DANDY'S ANGEL was only beaten two lengths into sixth over 1m2f here last time. John Wainwright's veteran should relish a return to further and is taken to score, but Princess Vivi is interesting because she still has few miles on the clock and could arguably find plenty of improvement at these types of distance. Satyress is another to watch out for.

HELMSLEY returned to form when second to an improver at Chester recently and would appear to have every chance of going one place better on this occasion. Qitaal also occupied the runner-up spot when beaten a head at Ripon last time and is the obvious danger ahead of Mao Shang Wong, who won't find this as taxing as his most recent start at York.

This won't take much winning and it might be wise to side with one of the three handicap debutants. Turton and Ice Show have shown mildly encouraging signs so far and though the same probably can't be said of ROYAL SIZZLER, it is Michael Dods' filly who gets the vote. She has some stamina on the dam's side of her pedigree and could do better now upped in trip.

Mjchael Dods boasts a strong hand with his pair Brain Freeze and Sparkling Wine but even so, OASIS COVER could be too strong. Ed Bethell's filly has shown real promise on both of her starts on the grass, including when keeping on into second at Redcar last time. The minimum trip might not be ideal for her, but this stiff finish ought to highlight her staying qualities.
