Chipchase Stakes Runners Guide

MARVELMAN
A comfortable five length winner on his only AW start, he was an impressive winner of the Group 2 Park Stakes last season. Both of those victories came over 7f and he needs to bounce back from a below par effort in the a Group 2 in Riyadh.

DILIGENT HARRY
Clive Cox trained eight-year-old who has won an impressive 10 of his 18 starts on the AW. He won this race by a neck last season and has returned this season running well on turf in Group 3 and Group 2 contests.

SYMBOL OF HONOUR
A five-time winner over this 6f trip, the Charlie Appleby trained gelding now makes his AW debut on his fifteenth career start. He won the Group 2 Sandy Lane Stakes last season but has only managed to finish midfield on his two starts at Meydan this season.

WILTSHIRE
A two-time course and distance winner who won after a wind operation in April off a mark of 96. He needs to bounce back from a below par effort at Newbury last time but will appreciate the return to the all-weather.

NOBLE CHAMPION
An impressive 5 ½ length winner of a novice race at Lingfield on his only previous AW start, he won the Group 3 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot last season. He lost his action and pulled up at Goodwood on his next start and hung badly left-handed last time in France.

Chipchase Stakes Trainers & Jockeys to Watch

William Haggas has won this race a record three times with Sense Of Duty (2022), Tiber Flow (2023) and Montassib (2024).

Tom Marquand has won this race twice in recent years on Sense Of Duty (2022) and Tiber Flow (2023).

Betting Insights for the Chipchase Stakes

Wiltshire has to be respected following the impressive recent record of William Haggas in this race but DILIGENT HARRY (best priced at 6/1) looks the much more solid option. Last year’s winner hits all of the six trends highlighted above and connections will have no doubt targeted this race with him. His two most recent runs on turf have been much better than his previous efforts and he will no doubt relish this return to the AW surface.
