This looks a competitive renewal of the Carlisle Bell but a chance is taken on PERSUASION (best
priced at 28/1) at a big price off top weight. The David & Nicola Barron trained nine-year-old is
unbeaten in Class 4 handicaps in his career, winning at Musselburgh in a 0-85 handicap in April off a
mark of 84.
Persuasion was only beaten four lengths when 7 th at York last time and although this step up in trip
to a mile is a slight negative, he looks overpriced dropped back down in class. He runs here off a
mark of 85 which makes him competitively handicapped as his previous career wins have come off
marks of 93, 84, 87, 87 and 84 and he could hit the frame with five places widely available.
