TIP 1: SABER STRIKE - 1pt

Best odds of 7/4 at bet365 while publishing.

The William Haggas trained SABER STRIKE (best priced at 7/4) lost his unbeaten record at Royal Ascot when only sixth in the Jersey Stakes but he can bounce back to form here. An impressive winner of the King Charles II Stakes at Newmarket on his final start last season, he was sent off 11/10 to make a winning reappearance last time.

Saber Strike backs up only a week later but runs in this Group 3 in receipt of weight from Never So Brave who has been well beaten on his two runs so far this season. They are closely matched on weight-adjusted ratings and I would prefer the chances of three three-year-old.

TIP 2: TEAM PLAYER - 0.5pt EW

Best odds available of 10/1 at Coral while publishing.

There has been a sustained gamble on Circus Of Rome for this race but the solid option in the race is TEAM PLAYER (best priced at 11/1). The four-year-old won over this course and distance on his stable debut in February off a mark of 78 before following up in the Queen’s Cup at Musselburgh off a mark of 83.

Team Player was caught back further than ideal when 5 th beaten only 2 ½ lengths in the Chester Cup last time off a mark of 92 and he gets to run off the same mark in this race. The return to the AW is no negative given his form figures in AW handicaps of 3131 and he looks sure to run well with up to six places available.
