The betting market should be helpful where the newcomers are concerned and any market interest in Eveninginparis, Thorpe Green and Coilltedudeisback may prove significant. Sugar Sugar is the pick of the rest with experience.

MANLY FIREBALL was the ready winner of a novice event over C&D last month and is back in a handicap with a strong chance of following up off bottom weight. Admittedly, this is a tougher race and there are several others with feasible chances. Fellow last-time-out winner Aigeas is a notable danger, while Jumeirah Sands has won two of his three starts this year and must be taken seriously after respectable second at Kempton last month.

WILBUR can make it third-time lucky. He was a beaten favourite at Catterick last time but seems to be learning on the job and the hope is that he'll keep coming forward. There is clearly ability there and, if settling better, he'll win one of these sooner rather than later. The dangers are Parvenue Star and newcomers Waakabb and Costa Verde.

ON KEY has been knocking on the door in recent starts and connections have found him a really winnable opening in this moderate handicap. The step back up to 7f isn't too much of a concern and he can strike at the main expense of Adelaide Bay, a former C&D winner who is back in good form. Midnight's Dream is noted too.

The hat-trick seeking CLASSY CLARETS is hard to ignore and given this this three-time course winner is still well handicapped in comparison to his peak form, he looks the logical choice based on his overall profile. Tomarlo has done well since joining Ollie Sangster and rates a key player after a convincing success over 6f here last week. He has run well over this trip before and cannot be ruled out. Cooramook and Whitesnake are others for the shortlist.

A Daughters Love backed up her Chepstow success with a dogged effort at Leicester most recently and commands respect with her bid to complete a hat-trick. As a daughter of Nathaniel, stepping up a couple of furlongs should suit and she only has a 3lb rise to contend with. However, her all-weather form has been poor and with that in mind, a chance is taken that previous C&D winner EDUCATE can provide a bit of value. Nala The Lioness, Wonderful Wendy and Luan are others with each-way chances.
