LOUIS VERON looks well in here starting out in a first time handicap, and with 26,000 to the winner, this may have been a well laid out plan from team Skelton.

Just denied in October at Chepstow on debut in a race that worked out well, he pulled clear when returning in May with the winner who’s since won again.

He won twice last month, both with ease, and last time out was a bloodless 16 lengths victory in a canter.

10st 11lbs, and a mark of 124 would look to be lenient, but he has plenty of experienced rivals and 16 to contend with.

Here’s hoping they’ve underestimated him now into first time handicaps and can land a big pot for last season’s champion trainer.

Last time out KINGSTON NARCISSUS was just denied after giving the leader a freebie out in front, he’s only had two runs for the yard and has more to give raised three pounds.

If more forward tactics are played he would have every chance.

But, the main play is SOUL ICON, who was a neck second in this two years ago off an official mark 137, and won a Grade 2 handicap at Kenton off 143.

He’s competed at Graded level subsequently.

And, returns here on a big weight, but has the class to be competitive still.
