I’ll Be Back was a NR on fast ground at Newmarket recently so he faces a question mark as a result and preference goes to SALAM DUBAWI (best priced at 9/4) who outran odds of 80/1 to finish 3rd (placed 5th after interference) in the John Smith’s Cup on Saturday. The Jim Goldie trained four-year-old had previously won over 1m1f here in impressive style in May before finishing 3rd at Ayr over a mile on his penultimate start off this mark of 87.
Salam Dubawi runs here from 1lb “well in” at the weights off the same mark and should hold strong claims if running up to the same level only five days later.
