UK Horse Racing Tips: Salisbury

In a small field the chances of Ralph Beckett's SIERRA BELLE are glaringly obvious after the daughter of Frankel was only beaten a neck on her debut at Newmarket when a slow start may well have cost her the race. Any improvement here would make her difficult to beat, though newcomer Debutante could be interesting if she gets her genes from her dam who is a half-sister to the brilliant Starman. Pride Of Toledo might get the better of Hemustbeanangel for third.

Matins looks to be an interesting newcomer for William Haggas as a son of Frankel related to some decent winners for Cheveley Park Stud, and it may be worth looking for any signs of market confidence. Kinetic Impact weakened late on over further at both Sandown and Pontefract and is worth a try at the mile here, but ARETI is preferred. Fourth and beaten a length in a Newbury handicap, the return to maiden company could be all she needs for a first success.

Thunderous Love won this last year and is back for more racing off 8lb lower, though her recent ninth at Newbury leaves her with plenty to find. Lahina Bay clearly likes it here with two wins and a neck second from three starts but they were all in a lower grade and MAID IN DEVON gets the nod. Two C&D wins were followed by a narrow success at Chepstow and although upped 2lb for that, she drops in class which could see her win once more.

The unexposed QUEEN'S COMPANION appeared to relish the step up to 10 furlongs when recording a narrow success at Newbury and with the potential of lots more to come, she is fancied to defy just a 2lb higher mark. Orchard might be the one to upset the applecart because he kept on well over a mile at Ffos Las and was only beaten a neck into second. Sudbury Hill is next best.

ROYAL POETRY's first try at 1m4f resulted in a cosy win at Doncaster and with the likelihood of further progress to come she's taken to go in again. Dangers include Captain Cairney, who was narrowly denied at Chepstow and Rossa Raheen but don't rule out either of the two handicap debutants or even Notable Charm, who sports cheekpieces for the first time.

ESCAPE MAGIC made it two wins from two since being sent handicapping when scoring at Chepstow and Owen Burrows' filly looks to have been found another fine opportunity as she goes in search of the hat-trick. Desert Charm arrives chasing that same feat and must be respected with Hector Crouch taking over in the saddle. Arvana Belle is most appealing of the remainder.
