Great Profit should relish a return to 6f having twice filled the runner-up spot over the minimum trip, and don't rule out Tap Dancer, who is one of four representing last year's winning stable.

It had been a while between drinks for IMPERIAL GUARD before he won over C&D two weeks ago, but it didn't take him long to double up over the same track and trip. Upped in grade under a 5lb penalty again, the in-form Night Of Thunder gelding might not be done yet and is taken to complete his hat-trick. Native Honey and Carmel Valley head the dangers.

Runninsonofagun wasn't able to back up his C&D success when third over the same track and trip, but this represents a drop in class and the top-weight must be respected. Approaching Dawn held on to land a classified contest here and remains of interest, but a chance can be taken on SPIRIT OF NATURE. Jim Goldie's gelding was well held in all three of his qualifying runs last year, but returns on the back of wind surgery. He's related to some smart types and may prove much better than an opening mark of 51.

The unexposed EMPIRICAL had eight lengths in hand when scoring on his second start in handicap company over an extended mile at Nottingham earlier in the month. The first-time application of blinkers and step up in trip may bring about further improvement and the three-year-old is hard to oppose, despite a 10lb rise. Recent C&D winner Pearl Eye is an obvious threat, while Geo and Rastnet are others with strong claims.

Doon The Glen and Supremissy both arrive on the back of narrow victories and have to be respected as a result. That said, their new marks demand more from them and marginal preference is for STARTLING. The four-year-old has been running consistently well in defeat of late and this drop in grade could be enough to see her return to winning ways.

RECOBELLA was successful over C&D earlier in the month and a 3lb rise for that victory may underestimate the five-year-old. Daring Leader and Royal Blaze are other recent winners who could give the selection plenty to think about. Annandale is also more than capable of going well in a race of this nature, while similar comments apply to Penelope's Sister.
