Dropped back into maiden company, he can make that previous experience count. Having shaped with promise on his first three runs, Ischgl ran better than the bare result at Royal Ascot latest. He, too, has vital experience for a race of this nature. Joga Bonito will need to improve on what he has done to date, but his trainer has already sent out a juvenile winner here this week and the stable is back in form.

A previous winner at this meeting over hurdles, the Ross O'Sullivan-trained gelding is locally-owned and will almost certainly have been campaigned with this race in mind. Having acquired plenty of chasing experience since his agonising defeat last year, the eight-year-old should go very close. With an official rating of 126, the Willie Mullins-trained Ocastle Des Mottes sets the standard. Although pulled up when last seen, his previous form was strong enough for a race of this nature. Wexford runner-up Mickie Angel also has to be respected.

A LAW OF HER OWN catches the eye on her stable debut for Emmet Mullins. Owned by the Mee family, the mare is a former Galway Festival winner over hurdles and although now in the latter stages of her career, it is surely significant that she makes her first start for new connections at this particular meeting. Locally-trained Kings Hill is another who will have had this race on his radar for some time. Second on his most recent start over fences, the Paul Gilligan-trained gelding had a prep run on the Flat recently. Intense Approach needs to improve to get involved, but has been highly tried since winning his beginners chase here last year.

Nasrullah Handicap winner THREAD OF GOLD can prove that he remains a well-handicapped horse. A lightly-raced three-year-old, the Willie Mullins-trained gelding stayed on strongly when scoring at Leopardstown recently. Stepping up in trip looks a wise move with the son of Ghaiyyath and he can continue his progression. Ladies Derby victor Fixation is now 9lb higher, but looked to have plenty in hand on that occasion and it would be no surprise to see the Johnny Murtagh-trained four-year-old play a leading role. The Real Screamer ran another big race when third in the Ragusa Handicap at the Curragh last time out.

Aidan O'Brien and Wayne Lordan are going for three in a row in this maiden and Cosmetic, who had Pleased behind her when runner-up at Fairyhouse last time, has obvious claims. Pleased had previously finished ahead of Porters Corner when the pair were placed at the Curragh, but the latter may improve enough from that debut to turn the tables. Preference, though, is for STELLAR MOMENT, who wasn't found wanting for stamina when stepping up to this sort of trip at Limerick. Narrowly beaten, the daughter of Ulysses can go one better on her fourth career start.

A nursery winner at this course last October, DOWN THE GLEN shaped well on his reappearance at the Curragh before being too keen when not seeing out an extended 1m2f at Sligo. He didn't show up last time, but will be suited by any ease in the ground and makes appeal on his overall profile. Galway native David Loughnane won a three-year-old handicap at last year's Festival, and his Pontefract second Snaafy will be popular in the market. Jp's Express finished well when third at Fairyhouse and is now fitted with headgear, while Gowran winner Sweet Baby Zou may have found the race coming too soon when disappointing four days later and has been freshened up since.

Cavan trainer Paddy Magee hit the headlines when sending out four winners on one day earlier this month and he looks to have brought along COULSTYS WAY with this race in mind. For a three-year-old, the selection acquitted herself well when runner-up to Steps In The Sand in last year's renewal and there was plenty to like about her recent placed effort at Killarney on just her second outing of the season. Vantage Code represents connections who do well at this meeting and drops in grade after a fine run over the extended 1m4f here on Monday. Cooley's Mist had subsequent winner Tatum back in third when winning at Leopardstown and will appreciate softer ground.

Seven-year-old UXMAL will be making just his 12th start and clearly hasn't been the easiest to keep right, but the 2024 Queen Alexandra winner has been found a good opportunity. The Galileo gelding comes into this on the back of a good run in Listed company at Limerick and won't have any issues with easy ground. Taipan is going for three in a row in this and could be dangerous from the front once again. Teed Up was around eight lengths in front of Galileo Dame in the amateur handicap here on Monday, but the latter gets a huge pull at the weights in the renewal of rivalry.
