Falcon Nine 11/4 (1pt)
This looks a competitive 0-60 handicap but preference goes to last year’s winner FALCON NINE (best priced at 11/4) who runs here from 3lbs “well in” at the weights. The Iain Jardine trained six-year-old won this race last season off a mark of 60 and he runs in it this year off a 2lb lower mark as a result of not winning since.
Falcon Nine finished a neck 2nd a fortnight ago at Ayr off this mark for which the handicapper has raised him 3lbs. Kieran Shoemark retains the ride and hopefully he can get back to winning ways under conditions we know that suits well.

U S S Charleston 6/1 (0.5pt ew)
The Lemos De Souza trained U S S CHARLESTON (best priced at 6/1) outran odds of 50/1 to finish 2nd behind Naana’s Shadow at Goodwood last week and he drops in grade here off a 2lb lower mark. The three-year-old put in a huge career best that day over 5f and is worth another go at this 6f trip.
U S S Charleston has a revised rating of 78 so he runs here from 3lbs “well in” at the weights and if he can put in a repeat of that effort over this 6f trip eight days later then he should prove hard to beat.
