TIP 1: Ajrad - 0.5pt EW

Best odds available of 6/1 at Skybet while publishing.

The Rod Millman trained AJRAD (best priced at 6/1) is a three-time course and distance winner including in this race last season when an impressive 3 ¼ length winner. The eight-year-old is back to a mark of 53 which he won this race off last season despite winning at Bath off a mark of 60 later that season.

Ajrad bounced back to form last time when 3rd beaten only 1 ½ lengths over 7f here last time off a mark of 54 despite not getting a clear run during the race. He has been dropped 1lb for that effort and should be well suited by this step back up in trip.

TIP 2: Celeron - 1pt

Best odds of 12/5 at BetMGM UK while publishing.

Aidan O’Brien has only won this race once in the previous eight years and CELERON (best priced at 12/5) can hopefully upset the favourite Sun Goddess this year. The Michael O’Callaghan trained colt is unbeaten over this course and distance with his two victories either side of an excusable effort at Royal Ascot in the Windsor Castle Stakes.

Celeron was an impressive three length winner of the Group 2 Railway Stakes last time and both Bucanero Fuerte (2023) and Siskin (2019) did the Railway Stakes- Phoenix Stakes double. Oisin Murphy retains the ride and hopefully Celeron can make it 3/3 at this track.
