The Rebecca Menzies trained gelding won his first two races at Musselburgh on soft and good to soft ground before defeating the reopposing Hickory Lad at Chester in the Lily Agnes Stakes.
Returning from an 84 day break, Adonius finished 2 nd at Glorious Goodwood in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes and should get back to winning ways dropped back to listed level.

With eight of his ten career victories all coming at Chester, ROMAN DRAGON (best priced at 10/3) should hold strong claims off top weight back into a Class 3 handicap. The Hugo Palmer trained seven-year-old won at the May meeting off a mark of 95 and has dropped back down to that mark for the first time since following some recent tough tasks over 7f.
Roman Dragon is well drawn in Stall 5 to get a prominent position under Jack Nicholls and he looks the one to beat.
