Algaihabane 9/4 (1pt)

The John & Thady Gosden trained ALGAIHABANE (best priced at 9/4) has once again been well supported overnight giving the impression that his debut flop should be excused. The well-bred son of Dubawi was sent off a well backed 11/10 favourite on his debut at Kempton last week when lots went wrong and he could only finish 7th beaten 12 ½ lengths at the finish.

Algaihabane was hampered early, didn’t get the clearest of runs into the straight and then was green under pressure before staying on over the 7f trip. This stiff finish at Sandown should suit and he can step forward from that with William Buick taking over on board.

Ruby’s Profit 15/8 (1pt)

RUBY’S PROFIT (best priced at 15/8) ran well on his stable debut for Tom Ward when 3rd at Epsom over 6f and she should hold strong claims back down to 5f. The four-year-old has a good record on downhill tracks including at Goodwood where she won last year off a mark of 87 and finished a close 3rd off a mark of 92.

Ruby’s Profit is yet to win in 2026 and has therefore dropped back down to a mark of 82 but this represents a drop in grade and she looks the one to beat with Tom Marquand deputising on board.
