This is often an above average Fillies’ Maiden but it would be disappointing if the 91 rated TALL TREES (best priced at 2/1) didn’t get off the mark at the fifth attempt. Brian Meehan had failed to have a 2yo winner this season until two at Newbury earlier this week and this filly has shown improvement with each start.
Tall Trees finished 2nd in a strong Newmarket maiden that has worked out well with the winner and the third finishing 2nd at listed level prior to herself finishing 3rd in the listed Star Stakes over this course and distance last time. She can be the fourth winning favourite of this race in a row.

The Aidan O’Brien trained SO LOVELY (best priced at 6/4) finished a close 2nd behind the reopposing Bellesque at Leopardstown on her debut but she is fancied to reverse that form given her recent improvement. She went on to finish 2nd in a Goodwood maiden which has been boosted by the 3rd winning on her next start before justifying short odds to get off the mark at Leopardstown over 7f.
This step back up in trip to a mile should suit So Lovely well being impeccably bred by Wootton Bassett out of Love. She looks the one to beat with Ryan Moore back on board.

Secret Of Life 3/1 (1pt)
This looks a strong renewal of the Atalanta Stakes with eight of the ten runners still holding an entry for the Group 1 Sun Chariot Stakes. Although she has a few pounds to find on official ratings, preference goes to SECRET OF LIFE (best priced at 3/1) who is unbeaten in her three career starts and has less question marks to answer than many of her opposition.
Secret Of Life won a novice under a penalty on her reappearance at Haydock on soft ground before making all over this course and distance last time at listed level in the Coral Distaff. She may not get an easy lead in this race but looks a strong stayer and can take this step up in grade in her stride.

God Of War 5/1 (0.5pt ew)
The Tom Clover trained GOD OF WAR (best priced at 5/1) won this race last season off a mark of 93 on soft ground and he runs in it this year off a 4lb lower mark. The four-year-old looked in need of the run after a 100 day break last time at Newmarket when weakening late on over a mile but he had previously finished a close 5th at Chester beaten less than two lengths off a mark of 92 in May.
Connections now fit God Of War with first time cheekpieces for this drop back in trip to 7f and he looks sure to run well with up to four places available.
