On her debut in a decent-looking maiden at Newmarket, THI QAR was second to a highly expensive and well-regarded filly. Well clear of the rest that day, this daughter of Mehmas already looked professional and is the most intriguing of those with experience. That said, Tall Trees has been highly tried and she must be feared after picking up some black type when she was third in a Listed event over C&D last month. Flower Show has a typically impressive pedigree for a Godolphin home-bred and must also be considered.

KOKBASTAU is heading in the right direction and his wins at Southwell and Kempton certainly captured the imagination. A 14lb rise for the latter does look fairly harsh. However, he reverts to turf as an unexposed handicapper with the potential to be well above average. Notably, his main rivals My Love Is King and King's Charter have something to prove with both trying new headgear, while Crown Of Oaks has a first-time tongue-tie applied and needs to bounce back from a modest effort on his seasonal debut at the Curragh.

MOON TARGET, who bettered her fourth-placed finish in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot when she was a creditable third in Prix Rothschild at Deauville, looks the one to side with as she steps outside of Group 1 company for the first time this season. Valiant Stakes winner Kon Tiki can give the Sir Mark Prescott-trained filly the most to think about, with her form profile stacking up well. Calendar Girl and Pacific Mission are closely matched after being the first two across the line in the Dick Hern at Haydock. The former can uphold that form and shades preference as the best alternative.

Sonic Angel has won both starts, the latest at Kempton, and looks likely to attempt to make all here. A fast early pace looks a perfect scenario for Roger Varian's 1,000,000gns yearling ROCK MONTREAL, a Blue Point colt who was impressive enough when winning at Yarmouth where he looked as if he was learning on the job. He holds a Dewhurst entry and will need to win this to justify those lofty ambitions. Kodiac City and Breacher are others worthy of consideration and also arrive unbeaten.

Oisin Murphy has ridden two of the five winners of this and is looking for a third on Saeed Bin Suroor's DESERT SHADOW. Upped in class and racing off 9lb higher after an easy win over C&D under the same jockey, he will need a career best off this rating, but still seems to be improving at the age of four. Huscal made all to win readily at Lingfield and he could prove tough to overhaul, with the lightly-raced Shameful one to watch on his belated return.

All of these have claims, but marginal preference is for LA FUERZA. The Crisfords' gelding has improved with every start and got off the mark in a Wolverhampton maiden in July. That form has worked out well and suggests that a mark of 80 should be workable on his nursery bow. Victory Gold only found one too good over this trip at Newbury on his most recent start and commands respect, while Kempton victor Clive The Writer is another to note.

HYPNOTISED has been knocking hard on the door of late and was only beaten a neck into second at Newbury last time. A 3lb rise for that effort is not ideal, but Harry Charlton's gelding may well be able to overcome it. Quantum Power's winning run came to an end at Goodwood a month ago but it is far too soon to be writing him off, while Betsen should not be underestimated on his return to action.
