PRINCE RASAM finished a respectable second at Kempton on his seasonal debut back in May. The son of Masar has been given some time off since then but can be given another chance, especially because he's well handicapped on previous exploits. Thiscouldbefun landed a similar C&D event last month and is another to consider now reunited with winning partner Isobelle Chalmers. Decalogue completes the shortlist.
Prediction : 1st Prince Rasam 2nd Thiscouldbefun 3rd Decalogue

NIGHT STAR boasts the standout form. Third in a decent novice event over 7f at Doncaster last time, the runner-up has since given that form a boost and Richard Hannon's inmate may well take another step forward over this extra furlong. My Boy wasn't disgraced when fourth at Newmarket on his debut and could have a say in proceedings, while General Wolfe is a newcomer worthy of a second glance.
Prediction : 1st Night Star 2nd My Boy 3rd General Wolfe

HEREWARD finished a creditable third in a conditions race at Deauville on his debut, despite showing signs of inexperience. The son of Saxon Warrior could prove tough to beat and the noteworthy booking of Colin Keane only strengthens his claims. Ahmadi will be a lot wiser for his recent debut fourth at Kempton and this extra yardage ought to suit, while Caelan's Rose is related to a host of winners and appeals most of the newcomers.
Prediction : 1st Hereward 2nd Ahmadi 3rd Caelans Rose

Miss Miniver was only beaten a neck by one that went on to hit the frame in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood and ought to go close, but THI QAR's Newmarket form looks a little stronger. The Gosdens' filly was also beaten a neck on her debut, but boasts an entry in the Fillies Mile and victory here may lead towards a lofty target like that. The Juddmonte-owned pair Concurrent and Quintana merit close inspection ahead of their introductions, along with the Ralph Beckett-trained Ellavara.
Prediction : 1st Thi Qar 2nd Miss Miniver 3rd Ellavara

On paper at least, this appears to be a good opportunity for NUIT D'ECLAIR. After winning on her debut at Newbury, the Night Of Thunder filly was only beaten a length into fourth in the Princess Margaret at Ascot. She then travelled smoothly into the lead in the Sweet Solera at Newmarket but was ultimately outstayed at the business end. Returning to 6f looks a good move on that evidence and she sets a clear standard. Miss Kodi wasn't far behind the selection at Ascot and emerged with plenty of credit when fourth in the Lowther a fortnight ago. She could be thereabouts again alongside Dark Issue, while Lola De Valence is interesting on the back of a commanding Nottingham triumph.
Prediction : 1st Nuit Declair 2nd Miss Kodi 3rd Dark Issue

16:49 Salisbury

Albaydaa was far from disgraced at York a fortnight ago and must be given the utmost respect from 1lb lower, as must Havana Pusey, who made a return to form when second at Newbury last time. However, ZEN DIVA put a poor Glorious Goodwood effort behind her to bolt up over C&D recently and though a return to choppier waters combined with a 10lb rise will ask much sterner questions of her, Ralph Beckett's filly might not be done improving.
Prediction : 1st Zen Diva 2nd Albaydaa 3rd Havana Pusey

17:24 Salisbury

Boyfriend was just edged out in a warm handicap at Glorious Goodwood last month and is likely to prove effective off a 2lb higher figure, but SHIPBOURNE can be given another chance. Ralph Beckett's charge didn't show his true colours at Newmarket in July and has been gelded since then. Based on his Doncaster victory the start prior, a current handicap mark of 88 might prove to be lenient. Point Of Contact is also noted.
Prediction : 1st Shipbourne 2nd Boyfriend 3rd Point Of Contact

17:55 Salisbury

Aleatrix was turned over at cramped odds at Newmarket in July, but she is a C&D winner who could have more to offer on her first outing in a handicap. Redbud Sixteen has won two of her last three starts and may have a say, but ZGHARTA gets the nod. Andrew Balding's filly has dropped to an appealing mark and she ought to relish an ease in class having finished last of seven in a class 2 event at Glorious Goodwood last time.
Prediction : 1st Zgharta 2nd Aleatrix 3rd Redbud Sixteen
