Although NIFFLER was rather workmanlike when completing a double at Catterick, this looks a suitable opportunity for him to continue his winning run. Poppy Scott claims a handy 7lb off the three-year-old's back and another step up in distance won't pose any issues. Reopposing fourth Lilykoy should appreciate a return to this trip and she may serve the most resistance to the selection, ahead of Star Of Markinch.

Having made the most of a two-runner debut at Salisbury, Reformation is open to improvement. However, a 7lb penalty could leave Andrew Balding's gelding vulnerable and this may be fought out between two-time runner-up Regal Desire and stable debutant HOZAM, with slight preference for the latter. The son of Hello Youmzain lost little in defeat when second to a decent yardstick at Wolverhampton and a similar performance may suffice.

Mr Minz sets a clear form standard following a pair of third-placed finishes and he can be on the premises again, but newcomer CRYSTAL DARK makes greater appeal. Ed Bethell's youngster is related to an abundance of winners, including 2023 Nell Gwyn heroine Mammas Girl, so it would come as no surprise were he able to make a successful introduction. Others to note include the Roger Varian-trained debutant Geometry and St Helier, who was fifth over 6f here.

ORMOLULU hasn't pulled up any trees on the grass this term, but she's been far more effective on an artificial surface previously. Gemma Tutty's mare is now 7lb lower than when a creditable third at Southwell in November and Conor Whiteley's 5lb claim is an added bonus. Doncaster novice winner Dark Angel Light is open to bags of improvement so must be taken seriously now sent handicapping for a new yard, and any market support for Persian Spirit on her return from a year off the track would be noteworthy.

GREAT PROFIT was able to build on a series of runner-up efforts to shed his maiden tag in comfortable fashion at Thirsk, and the improving son of Profitable is taken to defy a 7lb rise from his potentially handy draw. Bryan Smart landed the corresponding event 12 months ago and his representative March Ahead is at least worth noting, although Sea Her Excel does look the bigger threat.

Competing off 4lb below his last winning mark, the Michael Herrington-trained six-year-old is fancied to take a step forward to gain a first victory of the season. ANTHROPOLOGIST tends to go well here and has plenty going for him from his last winning mark. Having hinted at a revival lately, the experienced four-year-old has been in better form than many of the rest and the return to Gosforth Park may sufficiently perk him up for success. Coramento went up 7lb for scoring over track and trip and he is another solid contender, although he's never won off a rating this high. Finn Ironside and Gressington are the pick of the rest.

STARLINER has been knocking on the door and could be well placed to gain a deserved return to winning ways. The son of Showcasing was beaten just half a length here on Wednesday and his yard is going well. Chuzzlewit and Second Fiddle have similar profiles based on recent efforts and support for either in the betting would be noteworthy. Look Back Smiling is another to consider from 19lb below his last successful rating, with cheekpieces swapped for first-time blinkers.
