at this festival last season and he looks to hold strong claims this year, noting a declaration for tomorrow as well. The nine-year-old has impressive form figures of 324102110 at the track in his career with his only disappointing effort coming in May when tried over 6 ½ furlongs.
Dragon Of Malta has slowly been running himself into form this season despite being sent off prices of 20/1+ on all of his five starts but as a result he has dropped from a mark of 82 down to a mark of 73. That is the same mark as he won by five lengths at this festival last season and he should run well under his regular rider Julian Pietropaolo.

TIP 2: ACT OF VIOLENCE - 2pt

A number of the runners in this 0-70 handicap are struggling with recent form but that isn’t the case for ACT OF VIOLENCE (best priced at 5/2) who has form figures of 4132 since joining Tony Carroll this season. The five-year-old was an impressive 2 ¾ length winner at Ripon in July before placing on his next two starts at Newmarket and here over 5f last time.
This step back up in trip to 6f will suit Act Of Violence better than 5f (0-4 over that distance) and he is only 1lb higher than his ¾ length defeat last time. Silvestre De Sousa retains the ride and he can hopefully make all with an easy lead expected looking at the pace map.

The Harriet Bethell trained CITY CAPTAIN (best priced at 9/4) is unbeaten in his two starts at Hamilton in his career and should hold strong claims on this soft ground. The four-year-old won over this course and distance last year and got back to winning ways last time winning by a length over this course and distance last time off a mark of 78.
The handicapper has raised him 4lbs for that victory which is fair and he arguably should be better suited by this return to soft ground (2/2 on soft ground in his career) this time. He is a confident selection to make it 3/3 at Hamilton and 3/3 on soft ground is his career.
