With the Russell/Scudamore stable still under a slight cloud form wise, this looks a good opportunity for SIR CARNEGIE (best priced at 3/1) to record a third win at Perth this season. The Mickey Bowen trained six-year-old won over 2m4f here in first-time blinkers in May before following up at Hexham off a mark of 100 in June.
Sir Carnegie slightly underperformed at both Market Rasen and Newton Abbot but bounced back to form winning by five lengths over this course and distance last time and a 4lb rise for that victory is fair. He looks the one to beat with James Bowen back on board for the first time since his win here in May.

Gregory is no doubt the most likely winner with a rating of 113 but he could bounce on his second start after a 476 day break and preference instead goes to GOBLET OF FIRE (best priced at 15/2) who has shown strong handicap form at both Newmarket tracks this season. The Nicky Henderson trained six-year-old beat subsequent Northumberland Plate winner Align The Stars over 1m6f here in May before placing by less than a length on his next two starts at the July course including behind Valedictory who is now rated 100 having won since.
An official rating of 94 gives Goblet Of Fire about a stone to find on ratings but he looks sure to run well at this track and is deserving of this try at listed level.

The Andrew Balding trained KING OF BERKSHIRE (best priced at 6/4) had been running consistently
well with form figures of 2131342 prior to an impressive career best victory at Windsor last time. The three-year-old won easily by six lengths that day off a mark of 80 and the handicapper has raised him 9lbs for that success.
King Of Berkshire instead runs here under a 6lb penalty meaning he is 3lbs “well in” at the weights and he should prove hard to beat with Oisin Murphy back on board and 10 days to recover.
