Both Rupert The Brave and GOLD KEY (best priced at 9/4) have form behind National Honour but preference goes to the latter who looks open to more improvement. The Kevin Ryan trained colt looked in need of his first run at Newcastle on his debut before outrunning odds of 20/1 to finish a neck 2nd behind National Honour at Thirsk when that rival was sent off 1/5. The winner has since followed up at Kempton beating Rupert The Brave by 1 ¾ lengths despite getting upset in the stalls.
Gold Key was a NR at Ayr on heavy ground recently so connections clearly think he is better suited to fast ground and he looks the one to beat in this contest.

Vince Le Prince has been running consistently well in defeat but is winless since October 2024 and he could prove vulnerable to MO ANAM CHARA (best priced at 11/4) who won on her stable debut for Geoff Harker last time. The three-year-old was claimed out of Mark Fahey’s stable in Ireland having won at Roscommon and finished 2nd at Gowran Park.
Mo Anam Chara was a comfortable 1 ¾ length winner at Thirsk a fortnight ago off a mark of 67 with the pair pulling 4 ¼ lengths clear of third and a further 3 ½ lengths clear of the fourth that day. The handicapper has raised her 7lbs up to a mark of 74 but the three-year-old is clearly progressive and arrives in form.
