TIP 1: Kalpana - 0.5pt EW
Best odds of 9/2 at AK Bets while publishing.
KALPANA (best priced at 9/2) has shown improved form this season improving from a rating of 120
to 125 following three wins in four starts with her final two successes coming at Group 1 level. The Andrew Balding trained five-year-old has either won or placed in all apart from one of her eighteen races to date, and although that came in this race last season, she should be able to get a smoother passage through the race from Stall 6.
Kalpana beat Calandagan in the King George at Ascot before justifying her short price in the Yorkshire Oaks last time. She has a turn of foot over this 1m4f in case there isn’t a strong pace and Colin Keane will be riding with huge confidence having won the Sun Chariot Stakes yesterday aboard Blue Bolt.

TIP 2: Carla Ridge - 1pt
Best odds of 10/3 at bet365 while publishing.
The Eddie & Patrick Harty trained CARLA RIDGE (best priced at 10/3) was an impressive 10 length winner of this race last season on soft/heavy ground and she is likely to encounter similar conditions this time. She returned with a good 6 th placed finish when only beaten 3 ¼ lengths in May and she now returns from another 147 days off the track with connections being patient and waiting for this softer ground throughout the summer.
Carla Ridge is top rated in this contest with an official rating of 109 and even gets 2lbs from the 102 rated Pivotal Attack with the penalty structure of this race. Her regular rider Chris Hayes is once again on board and she should prove hard to beat.
