The pair combined to win this race last season under a confident hold up ride off a mark of 91 and despite running in it this year off a mark of 110, he is technically still 2lbs “well in” at the weights following a superb runner-up effort behind Caballo De Mar last time in the Group 2 Doncaster Cup.
That rival has boosted the form since winning the Group 1 Prix du Cadran at Longchamp upsetting Scandinavia which should further enhance the claims of Beylerbeyi in this. He is unlucky not to be unbeaten on all three of his starts at Newmarket in his career as he didn’t get a run when a close 4th behind Valedictory on the July course when finishing on the bridle but he should get back to winning ways in this.
