Silver Trumpet 10/3 (1pt)
This looks a competitive 0-75 handicap but preference goes to the top weight SILVER TRUMPET (best priced at 11/4) who arrives off the back of a close 2nd last time despite being slowly away. The Eve Johnson Houghton trained five-year-old has been narrowly beaten at Epsom on two of his previous three starts including when only beaten a short head last time when fitted with first-time blinkers.
Silver Trumpet is a previous course and distance winner here back in February 2024 so this return to the AW should be no inconvenience and he is well drawn in Stall 1.

Lancaster Tower 5/2 (1pt)
The well-bred LANCASTER TOWER (best priced at 5/2) has run with credit on his previous two starts and he should appreciate this drop in grade. The Kingman colt was sent off odds-on to make a winning debut at Sandown in July when a close 3rd behind subsequent listed winner Quest For Stars before slightly disappointing at York last time when racing too keen in the early stages of the contest.
Connections of Lancaster Tower now fit him with a first-time hood which should help him settle and he looks overpriced to get the better of Twelve Bars who ran well to finish 2nd on debut and Byzantine who has to concede a 7lb penalty.
