Pacific Storm 5/1 (1pt)
This race has become more open since Fram Castle was an early NR and a chance is taken on the handicap debutant PACIFIC STORM (best priced at 5/1) who steps up markedly in trip. The David Menuisier trained three-year-old gets an 8lb weight-for-age allowance from his elders which could prove crucial over this 2m1f distance. He has finished well beaten in his three runs to date in maiden and novice company but now steps up in trip for this handicap debut off an opening mark of 59.
Connections of Pacific Storm now fit him with a first-time visor which should make the job of Jack Dace a bit easier in the earlier stages of the race and he is expected to show a much improved effort.

Spirit Lead Me 5/1 (1pt)
Form figures of 96899986 are hardly inspiring for backers of SPIRIT LEAD ME (best priced at 5/1) but he has plummeted back down the weights and now returns to Southwell where he is 1/1 in his career. The Richard Hughes trained four-year-old won over this course and distance by two lengths off a mark of 70 last season and has now dropped down to a mark of 63.
Spirit Lead Me also drops in grade from a Class 5 handicap in to this Class 6 0-65 handicap and he looks the one to beat if bouncing back to form.
