TIP 1: LADY MARY HEATH – 1-point win
Best odds of 4/1 at Ladbrokes and Coral while publishing.
LADY MARY HEATH has been a bit of a law unto herself in the past, but she finally pieced everything together at Punchestown the other day and she looked in prime form to initiate a fair amount of confidence in her moving forward.
A disastrous start meant she was never a factor here three outings ago and although not quite as bad out of the gates on her return visit three weeks later, she was far enough back at halfway to prevent her from making up the lost leeway from a win perspective inside the final two furlongs.
She did, however, come across as a filly who had more ability than her rating was suggesting and her and her patient connections only had to wait a further nine days to finally reap the benefit of her labours.
Despite being much more alert out of the traps at the Kildare venue, the filly still had the entire field ahead of her turning for home but with a powerful late surge down the outside of the track, she ended up pulling right away inside the final furlong for a convincing success.
The feature of that performance compared to the rest of the card was the fact she was the only horse on the day to win from off the pace and away from the favoured far side rail, so with that in mind, she deserved to be massively upgraded on her breakthrough victory.
Providing she breaks reasonably on terms, she should take all the beating.

TIP 2: PERSEUS WAY – 1-point each-way
Best odds of 6/1 at BetMGM while publishing.
The form of the Silver Trophy at Chepstow last month has already been boosted in recent days by Washington and to a lesser degree, Take No Chances, and having run a career high in finishing second, PERSEUS WAY makes plenty of appeal at the prices to continue the trend.
Unlike many of his counterparts at the Welsh venue, Tristan Davidon’s inmate did have the benefit of several previous outings, his two most recent being victories, but that fact should detract from how well he ran for a horse who had by and large been plying his trade in lesser company up the north.
Now proven against top-quality handicap opposition, the seven-year-old deserves to be kept in the same lane and his overall body of work and speed figures of late suggest another bold bid is on the cards (yet to finish out of the first three in all eight starts since joining this yard).
