Asterion Forlonge has thrown his name in the Supreme hat after dominant Leopardstown display.
Asterion Forlonge has been cut as short as 5/1 from 20/1 after a dominant display in the Chanelle Pharma Novice Chase at Leopardstown.
Sent off at 4/1, Willie Muilins’ six-year-old tussled for the lead throughout the race with Easywork. They were neck and neck before Danny Mullins drew clear on Asterion Forlonge before the penultimate hurdle.
He stayed on very strongly in the run in in a very commanding performance.
He travelled very well throughout and Willie Mullins seemed very pleased with what he saw in an interview after the race.
Bookmakers instantly cut his price from 20/1 when he crossed the line. He is now a best price of 13/2.
In a wide open looking renewal this year, Asterion Forlonge now stands a great chance and deservedly finds himself near the front of the market.
Shiskin is the current 4/1 favourite for the race, with Fiddlerontheroof (8/1) and Abacadabras (6/1) making up the rest of the top four in the market.
It is setting up to be another fantastic renewal and plenty will fancy their chances.
