Supreme Novice Hurdle
In the past 24 hours, Workahead has accounted for 27% of all bets placed on the Supreme Novice Hurdle market across Oddschecker, a sharp increase from the 4% he picked up in the week prior.
This wave of interest has prompted bookmakers to slash his odds from 25/1 to 14/1, with a best price of 20/1 still available with some firms including bet365.
The surge in support follows confirmation from de Bromhead that Workahead will go straight to the Cheltenham Festival without another prep run.
Workahead’s last outing was a commanding 7-length victory in the Thorntons Recycling Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown on Boxing Day.
However, he’ll need to defy a significant trend to win at Cheltenham, as 11 of the last 12 Supreme Novice Hurdle winners had already won in a graded contest before their Festival success.

Quote from Oddschecker’s Leon Blackman:
"Workahead’s surge in the Supreme Novice Hurdle betting markets has been remarkable, driven by de Bromhead’s confirmation that he’ll head straight to Cheltenham. The market move reflects confidence in both the horse and the trainer, especially after last year’s success with Slade Steel.
However, punters should be aware that Workahead has yet to win a graded contest, and 11 of the last 12 winners of this race had achieved that milestone before triumphing at Cheltenham. It’ll be fascinating to see if Workahead can defy this trend and deliver another Festival victory for de Bromhead."
